Whoops, I forgot!

Just a couple things I forgot to update about last time that I want to remember:
~Quinn now signs the words: more, please, eat, and hat.
~He knows where his teeth, belly, and toes are and loves to pull up his shirt and show you his belly if you ask
~He knows who Spongebob is and calls him "Bob Bob", just like Cadon used to. I didn't know he knew that until we passed some Spongebob fabric and he said "Oh Bob bob!" and now he points him out anywhere we see him!
~He loves to "wink" by blinking both eyes very slowly. It's sooo cute.
~He loves to blow kisses and give real ones
~He is learning new words daily, although one of my favorite things is when he combines signs like "eat please" or "more pleas". But hearing his deep voice is also so cute. One of my favorites might be when he doesn't want something and he says "Huh uh". :)
~He loves to make his cars make sounds. How boys know how to make car sounds is beyond on me, but he does!

I just want to remember the cute things my kids do forever.
Like these:
~ Paiton constantly dancing, singing, and putting on a show. She knows all the words to most songs and, of course, loves the popular songs - Call Me Maybe, still all Katy Perry stuff, anything by Justin Bieber (she calls him Justin Fever!), Taylor Swift, etc., etc.! She's hilarious and my very best friend!
~ Quinn's new "thing" is to go "Mmmm!" when he eats something he really likes! It's so cute, he'll do it and then laugh with us! He also is signing the word "eat" now too!
~ Every time I take Quinn upstairs for a nap or to go to bed he waves good night to everyone else. He then lays his head on my shoulder and wraps his arms around his neck while I carry him upstairs to his room. It is the sweetest thing in the world and I walk as slowly as I can. :) He also thinks he's very silly and every time we try to put his blankie on him he puts his legs straight in the air so that we can't cover him and laughs! Such a silly boy!
~ Paiton is doing wonderfully still in preschool. We are still tossing around the idea of seeing if we can get her tested into kindergarten a year early. I think she is more than ready, and I fear that if she has to go through a full third year of preschool, she'll be super bored in Kindergarten. BUT - I would miss her terribly and that would mean she'd be ready to move away for college one year sooner! Matt says I'm the only one who would think this way, but I can't help it! ;)
~ They both have the sweetest giggles. I actually took a video in Quinn's room in the dark tonight of me tickling him and him just giggling. I love that sound.
~ We have Halloween costumes all picked out in the Locke house! Quinn will be a fighter pilot, and Paiton will be a mermaid! For her Halloween parade at school she will be Pebbles and her little blonde haired arranged-marriage boyfriend, Bowen, will be Bamm-Bamm! :)

Other than our kids being ridiculously good looking, ;) , we haven't been up to much other than the usual! Both of Matt's tennis teams, and my team as well, made it to districts! I'm excited, it's my first and I have been having so much fun playing! Paiton is still doing dance and loves it. She desperately wants to start gymnastics as well, especially after watching Quinn get to play on all the stuff for PT, but it's spendy, so if anyone wants to throw $150 our way, we'll take it! ;) Quinn still gets toted around to whatever errands/meetings/pick ups/drop offs I have and is my little companion. He's so super sweet and hilarious. Both kids have an obsession with Dutch Bros coffee (wonder where they get that...can't be their parents...) and if we happen to go through and *GASP* not get them a drink, Quinn lets us know just how upset he is by screaming "apple!" (his word for "drink") and crying! Poor kid is so tortured!
I know I promised some picture posts, I really need to get those up! I am so, so behind! I don't know how/if I'll ever catch up!!

Group PT

Quinn had his first group physical therapy today at Tumble Time Gymnastics.
We didn't know what to expect when we got there. Apparently today there were a few kids missing, but Quinn happens to be in a class of all boys! I didn't know Paiton couldn't come in with us, so she played in the waiting room with some very strict rules to follow. The whole wall is a window, so she was able to see Quinn and I and wave and "check in" every once in awhile.
Quinn was the youngest and the only one not able to walk, run, jump, etc. He did great, but it was really hard for him since it consisted of walking on the balance beam, hanging from the uneven bars, jumping on the trampolines, etc. He did good and only got a little bit overwhelmed. :)
It took a couple of us to get him to "walk" across the balance beam, since he can't walk yet, but he did pretty good at not getting too upset! They had the COOLEST toy there that the boys got to play on every little while as a reward:

It was so cool! It's a little car that goes down this bumpy roller coaster. Quinn thought it was hilarious and giggled each time he got to go down it. He held on all by himself! I could see Paiton seething with jealousy out in the waiting room too! ;)
Our little boy is getting too big! We are so proud of him and all his hard work! Go Quinn! You're a rockstar!

You guessed it...phone picture dump time! :)
This one happened to be taken on Quinn's 16 month birthday!
Headed to school!
Quinn and Tayson at the park

Love these nakey baby buns!
One Saturday morning park trip with Dad!
Fireman Quinn often keeps us safe :)

The other day I took the kids to the library, which they all loved.
Here's Tayson looking at books:
Me and the cutest boy ever

There are lots more pictures and lots more stories to share as soon as I can!
We took Paiton and Kylie to the circus, we had a fun last day at Roaring Springs, a 50th birthday for my dad, and a 60th birthday for Matt's dad, and have been busy with preschool, dance, and physical therapy.
Poor Quinn was super sick this weekend. Thursday night I had a tennis match and when I went to get Quinn and Paiton from my mom's house, Quinn had a fever around 102. He kept a fever of 101-102 all through the night and all day Friday. Friday night at my parents house we realized he was REALLY hot and was just laying on me not doing much. His temp under his arm was 103.9 and knowing that that is often lower and not accurate than what it really is, I took it rectally and got 105.1. Yikes! The only times I've ever seen fevers that high is when Paiton used to have her kidney issues. I would always know she had a kidney infection when she'd get super sick out of nowhere and her temp would shoot up to 105-106. It's scary to see those kinds of temps and I knew we couldn't ignore it, so we headed to the ER. :/ Poor Quinn had to have a catheter to check his urine and some blood drawn. Turns out drawing blood is NOT easy on a chubby baby! They got enough blood to send to the lab, but couldn't get a line in for an IV. His bloodwork came back with high white blood cells, so we knew his body was fighting off an infection of some sort. His fever hovered around 103 for awhile and then finally broke and was under 98 when we were discharged.
He continued having a fever through Saturday (lower again, around 101) then that evening it shot back up to 104.6 and stayed there a couple hours. He had the 100-101 fever all through Sunday and now finally seems to be over it. Whatever "it" was!!
It's so sad to have a sick baby, but we got so many not-typical-for-Quinn snuggles! :)
So, more pictures to come, and updates on the kids!
I will do a real update soon, but for now I want to remember some cute words that Quinny is saying!!
-He typically calls me "mama" but has added "Ma!" and "Mom-mom" to it as well. Matt and I crack up when he screams "Ma!" at me, it's so demanding sounding and so funny!
-He loves balloons and calls them "boon boons"
-Last night he almost said "umbrella" perfectly. He was trying so, so hard and got "brella" out several times!
-He says "all gone!" when something is empty
-He can say "bye bye" but rarely does, he prefers to wave
-He has started blowing us kisses, seriously melts my heart!!

More to come! =)

My Photographer

We all know Paiton is my mini-me.
Seems she has inherited my love for photography as well!
I bought her a digital camera a few weeks ago and she loves it! She actually takes pretty great pictures with it. She asked me to share some on the blog ;)
So, here are some of Paiton's pictures - taken by Paiton ALL BY HERSELF!!
{I love that this gives us the ability to see things as Paiton sees them, from her level, and her perspective. It gives a glimpse of what's important to her! So cool!}

Quinn also loves to get his hands on the camera! :)

Of course we have a bunch of her flamingos!

 Out the car window!

Can't believe this one actually turned out!! Hehe!
Taking a picture of the blister on her heel

She saw this and said "Oh, my pretty shoe!"

Of course tennis is on the TV.

 Oh, so pretty Matt.

This one was just today. Paiton said "Oh, my, gosh! My animals look sooo adorable right now, I just have to take their picture!" Haha!!! :)
Good job P, you're awesome!

Super Dad

I have to brag on Matt  for a minute.
He rocks.
ROCKS.
Paiton started dance class for the year on Wednesday night. It's at a new place this year and we didn't really know what to expect. I, unfortunately, had scheduled a photoshoot for that same night not realizing that's when dance started. Matt took BOTH kids to dance at a new place, where we didn't know anyone, didn't know what the waiting area situation would be, etc., and at Quinn's dinner and bedtime. As someone who did this weekly last year, let me tell you, it's no small feat.
Stupid me didn't take any pictures before she left the house, grr, but she looked cute, of course!
Matt (and her teacher) said she did fantastic!
I can only imagine how many dads were there cheering on their baby girls with a baby in tow.
I'm sure the answer is: ONE.

We are so lucky to have you Matt, you are a brave soul. ;)
We love you with every ounce of us.
Love, Ashley, Paiton, and Quinn - your #1 fans

First Day of Preschool (The second one...)

By the time she's finally old enough to go to Kindergarten, Paiton will be a pre-school pro!! :)
Last week she started pre-school for the 2012/2013 school year!
She was very excited to go back to school and see Miss Carolanne and all of her friends.

It was super bright this morning, and I almost forgot to even take the pictures at all! So we grabbed a few very squinty eyed ones and called it good.

My other little "baby" girl, Cami, started her Senior year of high school the same day!! Here they are, both on their first day of school this year!

Of course Quinn couldn't be left out!
 Isn't she so gorgeous!?

Heading in to school!
Paiton and cousin Aly! Alyson is going to Carolanne's this year too! How fun!

Paiton had a great first couple of weeks. She still loves school just as much as always! She had a lot of fun. A lot of her friends are still there (except the ones that moved to Kindergarten) and some new ones as well! She wakes up happy to go to school, and comes home full of stories and eager to go again!
And just because it's SOOO cute, here are her pictures from the first day last year! Broken foot and all!! ;)
I can't get over this chubby baby face and her tolerating smile! :) They grow up waaaaay too fast!!!!
