BABY SHOWER!!!

Hi!!! I am so excited to be putting up pictures of my BABY SHOWER!! I didn't think it would ever be time for me to have one, but it was!! It was a great day and I wish I could do it all over again! Thank you to Amy and my Mom for planning it and to Grandma for letting us (always) use her house! Thanks to everyone who came: Angie, Tricia, Aunt Lisa, Kathy, Grandma Doris, Karen and the boys, Carissa, Cami, Fiya, Debbie, Cadon, Spencer, Dad, Matt, Grandpa and of course everyone else that sent us presents in the mail! I'm working on those thank you cards :)

We got lots of great stuff. I didn't want to bore everyone by posting every thing we got and all the pictures, but we got a lot of stuff!! Matt is at tennis right now and I am headed down to the nursery to begin going through clothes and tearing tags off to get stuff washed! Woohoo! I love washing baby clothes!

Here are the pictures I have. Our little camera is really a piece of baby poop and doesn't take good pictures. I didn't want Matt to have to go get the good one from his school so I thought we'd suffer through. So when I go to Mom's I'm going to steal her pictures and put some more up! Just what you were hoping for! So check back later.....! :)

The boys decided they must let the balloons go outside. Cadon was wanting to suck the helium so bad it was killing him! So we ended that problem right away! Bye bye balloons!

Silly Shibas, Naps Are For Babies!

Here is a picture of my silly shibas. They are enjoying having me home today so that they can bum around the house and share my lunch. After lunch they both crashed on the couch while I worked. Too funny, and too cute. Have you ever seen two more precious dogs!?

My Sweet Keilah

Well Matt and I struggled through one of our worst days ever yesterday! Luckily I am off on Wednesdays. Right after Matt left for work at about 6:40 am I heard Keilah fall on the wood floor. This alone isn't weird, they're always slipping on the wood. When I got up to look and make sure she was ok, she couldn't stand up. She was laying on her side kind of paddling her little legs but not able to walk. She saw me and tried to get to me but was running into the walls and the couch. I picked her up and realized that she was having a seizure. It was probably the scariest thing I've ever seen. I couldn't do anything for her and she looked so scared. I put her back down and put on some flip flops, put Kotah downstairs, grabbed my purse and keys and ran out the door. I kept almost dropping her as I took her to the car because she was seizing so badly. It lasted about 5 minutes. I took her to the emergency vet and Matt met us there. As soon as we started driving she stopped shaking and just laid in the passenger seat with these big sad eyes. They gave her some Valium to calm her down and she did great, although she did eat out one of the IV's they put in her. That's my girl :) Then they sent us to her regular vet once they opened. She was "hospitalized" there for the day so they could observe her and make sure she didn't have any more seizures. Luckily she didn't but she was diagnosed with epilepsy. I didn't even know that dogs could have epilepsy. It was really scary and I spent the day crying and being really upset and scared. We got to pick her up at about 5 pm and bring her home. Kotah was very happy to see her and she seemed a little tired but mostly like her normal self. I stayed up most the night checking on her and making sure she didn't have another one and am working from home today so that I can watch her. So far we are doing ok. The doctor said that she may just have seizures the rest of her life, and if that's the case she'll need to be on anti-seizure medications. Or we may get lucky and she may never have another one, however Matt and I have a 5 year history going on of being the most unlucky people ever, so we'll have to see what happens.
On a slightly funny (it's funny now) note, DishTV came out yesterday to install a dish so could have real TV. The guy took one look at the big trees around our house and said "Nope. Not going to work, too many branches". Then he suggested that he dig a hole, pour some concrete, mount a big pole in the concrete, and then put a satellite dish on top of the pole....IN MY FRONT YARD. So I told him "Um, no" and asked him to leave. Of course, we can't even have TV go right for us! Is this a joke!?
Anyway, everyone please think of little Keilah and say a little prayer that she doesn't have any more seizures and she is healthy. She is my best friend in the world and I don't know what I would do without her! Here are some things we love about our little La La:
1. She talks like she is a person, she'll tell you when she's hungry, needs to go potty, or wants to play with her bone.
2. She can spell. We had to stop saying "bone" because she would get so excited and freak out, and now she knows that b-o-n-e means bone. Smart little bugger.
3. She is a very good snuggler. One of her favorite places to be is curled up next to my tummy snuggling Paiton.
4. She is Kotah's second half. They love each other so much it's almost like they're real people.
5. Sometimes we forget she is a dog because she acts like a person. It's true - I have entire conversations with her. She's a good listener!
We are lucky to have the two cutest, funniest, sweetest dogs I've ever met and we love them so much!!! Paiton is going to have a lot of fun with these little guys!!

Dr. Appt/Brandon's by Egypt!

Hey everyone. I had a doctor's appointment this morning and it went well. Paiton is now measuring a little small, which is weird, usually she's big! Heartbeat was 160, a little faster than usual. Everything else looked good. Dr. Jones confirmed that Matt will cut the umbilical cord! He is very excited and hoping he doesn't pass out (me too). Not too much other than that. Only 7 weeks to go!!

On a cool note, Brandon is somewhere over near Egypt!! He sent us a bunch of pictures so I will put them up here so everyone can see! He's so cool! I am very proud of my little brother. He got to call Carissa and Mom today and tomorrow he's supposed to call ME!! Yay! I can't wait to hear from him. I wonder if he sounds different on the other side of the globe? Enjoy the pictures!! I am sure he is standing in front of important things that might tell us where he is, but I don't know or remember...so you can turn it in to a guessing game if you want!! :)

53 days and a Pineapple!

Paiton is the size of a pineapple! That sounds so funny! Only 53 days until my due date! The countdown has officially begun! She has been getting the hiccups every night around 6:45, it's pretty entertaining! I feel bad for her though because I hate the hiccups! I have my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday so hopefully it goes well. I am not sure when they will bump me up to going every week but that's going to be a real pain! It takes sometimes 45 minutes to get to the doctor from our house! Matt and I have a bet going on when Paiton will actually be born. Feel free to join in the game if you want :)

I put up the swirlies on the wall of Paiton's room on Wednesday. It is soooo cute! I will take some pictures and put them up here. It looks really good now.

My shower is a week from tomorrow! I can't wait! It's on the 27th at 1 pm at Grandma's house! I am so excited I can't even describe it! A party just for Paiton! How fun!! My cousin Amy is planning it and I am sure it's going to be awesome. I am also counting down to that, it's much closer than the countdown to my due date! Also that same morning is the last tour of the hospital that is offered before P gets here so Matt and I will be going on that too. We basically already had our tour when I was admitted a few weeks back, but we're hoping to get some free goodies out of it ;) And a peek and some babies in the nursery!

Sweet P's Room!

I am going to apologize in advance because this post is going to be long with a lot of pictures - but they're enjoyable!! :)

First off the Koch's were here to visit - Yay! While I don't really have any pictures of them (sorry, I was off my game), Here are a couple from when we all went out to eat.

Yesterday Cadon, Carissa, Mom and I went to Babies R Us and Craft Warehouse in search of stuff to hang in P's room. Cadon was such a good boy he got to pick out a toy at Babies R Us and he picked this little thing you push that pops these little balls around and makes lots of fun noises. Uncle Matt took him on a walk to Grandpa and Grandma Riggs' to show them his new toy!

I bet you all thought I was kidding in another post when I said we let the baby eat off the floor with the dog....Not kidding! It's ok, they're best friends.


This weekend we finally got Paiton's room ready!! Yay! It actually wasn't so bad putting it together. I am proud to say I built the crib all by myself and it was super easy! I mean, it was really hard and took hours and hours ;) Then last night Matt and I built her dresser which also turned out super cute. We only sustained minor injuries. I split my ankle bone open on the toolbox and lost some blood, Matt stepped on and crushed one of the pieces of the dresser, but you can't tell, and then I fell and scraped up my arm. Good times overall. Now for anyone who doesn't know this about us - we enjoy giving back to our community. Whenever we have some junk, I mean really nice stuff, to get rid of, we put it in our front yard and see how long it takes for some of our awesome neighbors to come pick it up. Last night was the ultimate experiment. We decided to empty our downstairs TV room because it's going to become a playroom for the baby. So we hauled outside a couch, two suede banana type chairs, and a TV stand. We had literally shut the door and sat down to build the dresser when someone took the couch - under two minutes. Then about 3 minutes after that someone hauled away the rest. We are extremely proud to say that in about 7 minutes we got rid of a room's worth of stuff. Score!

So here is Paiton's room so far. Keep in mind I still have some stuff to put on the walls.

Here is the crib I built!! The picture frames on the right and left of it will go on the wall (obviously) and one will have the black and white picture of Matt and I looking at my belly that we had taken and the other one will be of P's precious little face when she gets here. There is also a really cute frame in the crib that Auntie Kiki made for P that says "Life's Little Miracle" that needs to go somewhere. So cute!!

Last night we were checking out Paiton's newborn diapers. They're just so SMALL! I mean they are tiny little things. Matt has yet to ever change a diaper in his life so last night he practiced putting one on a teddy bear that he got P. He did really good! All I had to tell him was which way the diaper went and after that he cruised! Good job Matt, you rock!!

Ok I think that's enough for now. I will get up more pictures once we get some more stuff done like putting pictures in the frames and getting the swirls on the walls, etc. So far we have been having TONS of fun and every day we get more anxious for her to FINALLY be here! I have washed all of her clothes and we like to look at them and how tiny they are!! The countdown is officially on...
