We have a licensed driver!

So first I have some big news to share!!

Spencer passed both his driving tests and is now a licensed driver! Woohoo! Congrats Boo Boo!
He refused to hold his license so I could take his picture, he thought I was dumb, so I had to hold it and wait for him to bring his head out from behind the pillow :)

We visited Grandma and Grandpa one day. They were going to babysit Paiton, but then my meeting ended up getting canceled so they didn't have to!

Keilah and Paiton playing on the floor
Hey! How did I get back here!? Playing hide n seek at Grandma and Grandpas:
One night after partying at Nana and Papas...she was laying in bed playing with her sheep and all of a sudden it got very quiet - she passed out!!

Some videos

Just a couple pictures I thought were share-worthy from the last couple days:
This is a VERY tired Paiton taking a good nap

Paiton is currently getting THREE teeth in on the top so her life has been miserable. To be honest, so has ours! She is in a lot of pain and hasn't slept well. Last night was so full of screaming that Matt had to go sleep downstairs so he wouldn't be a zombie at work today! Meanwhile Paiton and I laid in bed from 11:30 until about 5:30 am just trying to make her comfortable. Poor baby. Hopefully they come all the way in soon and stop hurting!

I love that she has so much hair, because then it can look like THIS when she wakes up:
SO funny!
You mean I'm not supposed to crawl under my activity table?

She also has a new trick! She knows where my nose is! She hasn't quite caught on that she has a nose too, but if you ask her where yours is she can point to it!

Here are a few videos I took the other day. This first one is of Paiton showing off her clapping skills! She just started clapping one day and now does it all the time. We can also get her to do it by saying "Yay!" The second video is a short one of her stiff - arm wave. It is hard to get a video of that because she of course won't do it if she knows I am taping. We had to have Abba come down the stairs and wave at her, she will ALWAYS wave at him! She loves him so much!

That last video is a short one of P barking. I don't know how well you can hear it...Enjoy!!

A Day At The Fair!

Well it's that time of year! Time for the FAIR! I happen to love the fair. My husband, not so much. We'll see which one Paiton takes after but so far she seemed to enjoy it!
On Saturday we (Mom, Dad, Spencer, Cami, Me, Matt, Paiton, Grandma, and Grandmpa) packed up and headed to the fair! It was a good day to go because it was only in the 80's so it wasn't super hot. It got hotter and a little muggy as the day went on but not too bad.
I didn't take too many pictures (surprisingly) but here are a few:
First we stopped at the petting zoo. Paiton liked touching the animals!

Petting the HUGE cow with Nana

When we first walked in to the petting zoo Pai was barking at all the animals! I think she was confused when they didn't bark back!
It soon got to be nap time and we were all amazed when Paiton fell asleep in her stroller! She never does this. It didn't look too comfortable but we didn't dare move her!

She eventually kind of adjusted herself:
Getting ready to leave. Papa and Pai stopped to watch the people on the swings and Paiton waved goodbye.

First Varsity Game

Last night was Cameron's first Varsity Game ever! We were so excited to go watch her play. Matt, Paiton and I went with Mom and Dad, and Aunt Lisa and Uncle Tim came too! It was fun to go cheer her on.
We weren't sure what to expect since she is a freshman. We weren't too sure if she would get to play, but she did! She played in both halves. She did really good. Her number is 14 and it should be easy to see her in all these. I took a bunch of pictures, here are some of them:

Running on to the field to play for the first time ever!

And of course had to get one of my beautiful girl while Aunt Lisa was holding her:
Back to the game:
Bossing people around as she usually does on the field!

There is a funny story behind this next picture. This girl was holding onto Cami's jersey while Cami tried to run. I thought I got a better picture, but you can still definitely see that her hands are full of Cam's shirt! She was pulling on it so much that it pulled Cameron's shirt right up! They didn't call her on it or anything but we were all yelling and when Cami came off the field she told us that when it happened she turned to the girl and said "I'm just a freshman. Can you please not take my clothes off?" Haha. That's our girl!
It was fun and we look forward to going to more games. It was 100 degrees out so I'm sure the girls were dying on the field. Luckily there was shade for us to sit in! Way to Cami! You rock!

Last night after the game we went to Mom and Dad's for pizza. I walked down the stairs and waved and Pai, who was sitting on Papa's lap, and she started clapping! Just out of the nowhere!! It was too cute. We of course made her keep doing it while everyone clapped with her and cheered! Another trick to add to the list!

Good Eats!

Paiton is quite the eater! She loves big people food so she usually eats what we eat for dinner. Today I bought her some Gerber things called Pasta Pick Ups. They are raviolis full of spinach that you just heat up. My friend told me that she would like them and she does! However now she thinks she is too big to be fed by me sometimes. If it's morning I can feed her, but lunch and dinner she usually hits the spoon away and tries to feed herself. This results in a big mess!
Here she is eating her yummy lunch:

And this is the face I get if I try to feed her myself:

"Heck no Mom! I'm a big girl!"

And here is the best video I could get of P barking. Keilah was barking, but of course as soon as P noticed I was taping she stopped. The only bark is at the very very beginning so listen closely!

Woo Woo!

You all know that Paiton barks like a dog. She says "woo woo" and that is her bark. It is very cute and I should get a video of it. Usually she does it after Keilah barks but lately she does it on her own or if she sees Keilah walk into a room.
Yesterday I had a few work meetings and Paiton came with me, as usual. She was having a very bad day and was being quite naughty. She screamed bloody murder for 2 hours straight while I tried to work and sat outside my clients house waiting for her to stop so I could go in and meet with them. I ended up having to pull over to the side of the road and take her out of her carseat and play with her in the backseat to get her calmed down. At this point I had already vented to my mom and Matt about how terrible she was acting and I was about to have a mental breakdown. I took her out of her carseat and she was sobbing and doing the heavy breathing and laid her head on my shoulder. I was holding her and loving on her when all of a sudden she stopped crying, looked up and out the back window and started waving like crazy. I looked and there was a giant dog roaming around on the sidewalk. She kept waving at it and then she started barking! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen, her little, red, tear streaked face, and her chubby little arm waving out the window like crazy while she said "Woo Woo!" to the dog.
Just like that, the temper tantrum was over. We played in the backseat for awhile and then I put her back in her carseat. She cried again but eventually fell asleep. I am grateful to have the cutest, smartest baby ever and I am so happy that she has such a great personality, even if she does throw some pretty terrible tantrums!
I love you Paiton, thank you for showing Mommy how to have patience and that sometimes all you need is a good wave and a "Woo Woo" to make everything better!

Just some fun!

Another Monday has come! This is Matt's last Monday before he goes back to work! He starts back at school Thursday, but the kids don't come until next Tuesday. It was fun having him home for 3 months but I think he's excited to go back to work.
We babysat Koby again on Friday and Mom, Grandma, Spencer, and Cami came over to visit. While they were here Paiton and Koby played on the floor together. Koby brought Paiton a very cute outfit to say thank you for watching her! It was very nice!
Hmmm...those look like toes and I like to suck on toes....

Yup, I think I will!! Doesn't matter that they're not mine!!

Paiton got her first shoulder ride ever! Papa was more than happy to give it to her!

Taking a sweaty nap on Nana. She even poses in her sleep!

She was attempting to climb up on the dishwasher, but of course when I got the camera out she just sat down and smiled!
Dad taught Spencer how to drive stick shift in my car! You can't really see but this is Spencer in the driver's seat. He did awesome! We were all watching in anticipation for him to stall it but he just drove off like perfect!
It was immediately after this that my car decided to overheat and be undrivable! We blame Spencer! Just kidding, we don't. There's a long list of things that are wrong with my car, this one just happened to make us have to park it in my parent's garage and borrow their car until we figure out what the heck we're going to do with it!
We took a LONG walk one night and walked Paiton to a park in a subdivision near Mom's so she could swing. She still loves to swing just as much as ever.
Here are the many faces of swinging P:

And starting to get very tired:

I wanted to take Pai down her first slide but once I got up there I realized that to get to the slide we had to climb through a tunnel!
If this looks familiar you may be remembering another little cutie sticking his face out of a tube:

Paiton's first slide!
That was our weekend!

9 MONTHS OLD!

Today Paiton is 9 months and 1 day old!! I can't believe it. It sounds so old to say I have a 9 month old!!
Yesterday she had her 9 month check up and it went great!! The doctor said she is doing everything she should be and is perfect!! We asked about her not crawling and the doctor said that what's important is that she can get where she wants to go, which she does by scooting and rolling, so we're good!! She scored a 100% on everything developmental! We knew we had a genius! She now weighs 17 pounds 14 ounces and is 26 1/2 inches long. Dr. Zieba said that because Matt is average height and I am only in the 10th percentile for adult women for my height (hehe) Paiton will be a short girl! That's ok! Better short than super tall I think! She didn't tell us anything we didn't already know - P is perfect in every way! She did tell us we can start feeding her what we eat for dinner so that's exciting! Paiton only had to get one shot and it was a flu shot for this winter. She got it in her leg and she didn't even cry! What a big girl!! The doctor said it's especially important to get flu shots this winter due to the swine flu addition! So we did it.
Here she is patiently waiting for the doctor to check her out:
She had to have a needle poke on her toe for a blood test. She didn't even notice this, but she did enjoy pulling the bandaid off!!
This was her 9 month birthday outfit. Grandma Doris gave it to her and we thought it would be perfect for her to wear yesterday! Thanks Grandma! We love it!!

She definitely has her mom's curly hair! We decided to leave it curly yesterday and it looked so cute!!

She started out her birthday morning by watching Blues Clues with Daddy!
We went to lunch and Paiton was very generous, sharing her binky with Daddy!
Matt and I carefully complied a LONG list of things that we wanted to remember about Paiton at this age. Here it is:
1. She is an expert barker! She loves to "talk" to Keilah and bark at her. Whenever a dog barks Paiton immediately mimicks it.
2. She learned how to blow spit bubbles and thinks it's really funny
3. She is learning sign language. We have always wanted to teach her and she is working on it!
4. She LOVES anything having to do with yogurt - we buy her yogurt melt snacks and yogurt juice and she can't get enough! It's good because it gives her lots of calcium!
5. She loves to eat bananas
6. She is very good at standing and can even do it without holding onto anything for a few seconds. She would rather stand than sit.
7. She has a funny sense of humor and enjoys playing tricks on people. Two tricks she likes to play: The other night I was holding her and Mom was sitting next to me. Paiton would lean over and get on Mom's lap for her to hold her. Then she'd come back to my lap. She went back and forth for awhile. Then she would reach out to Mom and when Mom would reach to grab her Paiton would turn and grab onto me and smile big at Nana teasing her! She also teases with food - she will hold food out to you like she is going to share, but as soon as you go to bite it she hurries and puts it in her mouth. She especially likes to play this trick on her Dad!
8. She is quite the talker! She loves to tell big long stories and even changes her voice. She has a monster voice that we love! She says "Mama" and "Uh oh" and lots of other babbles.
9. She goes crazy in her doorway jumper!! She jumps and spins like crazy! We have one but we only have a regular doorway and she goes so crazy in it that she hits her head on the door frame. So she plays in the one Grandma has at her house. They have a double doorway and that gives her plenty of jumping room!!
10. She also likes to play in her bouncy monkey seat we have. She will bounce like crazy. Matt sings a song to her that goes "Boo boo boo boo bouncy boo boo!" and she LOVES that song! She bounces extra high when he sings that to her!
11. She spins around on the floor on her tummy in circles! It's pretty funny.
12. She is a food sorter! We are just amazed at how smart she is. I usually give her three snacks mixed together - rice puffs, yogurt melts, and graham cracker goldfish. She always picks them out in the same order. First she'll eat the yogurt, then the goldfish, then the puffs. Sometimes she will put them in separate piles around her highchair tray!
13. She is now taking big girl baths and she really seems to like them. She loves to play with her yellow duckies!
14. She believes in something we call "Midnight play time". Midnight play time can actually happen anywhere between about 11 pm and 4 am. She goes to bed between 7:30 and 8 pm every night. Sometimes she decides to wake up between 11 and 4 and she is AWAKE. She plays and laughs and tells big stories and keeps us up for hours!!
15. She is a toe sucker!! We have caught her many times just sitting sucking on her big toe. She will spit out her binky and start sucking away! Too cute! I can't blame her, they are pretty cute toes!! Yesterday when the nurse poked her toe and put a bandaid on it Pai looked at us like "Now what am I supposed to do!? That's my suckin toe!!" Haha! Here is a picture of this toe sucking: (It was taken with my phone so it's not the best...)
16. She loves to eat. When she wants something we have she'll spit out her binky and open her mouth like a baby bird. We love the baby bird face and are guilty of sometimes holding food to her a minute longer than we should just to see it!
17. She loves everything about water! She loves to drink it and loves to play in it. She definitely inherited my love for drinking water. She will gulp and gulp it! She also loves playing in it and will float around in her tube at the water park for hours if we let her! The kiddie pool is just the right depth for her to be able to stand in her tube and walk around. She thinks that's pretty cool! She even kicks her legs and "swims" if we hold her on her tummy in the water.
18. She loves to dance to music. Her favorite for some reason is Frank Sinatra and other music like that. But she will get down to anything! She also dances on command. If we say "Dance dance dance!" She will start bopping around! It's too cute!
19. She also sings to us. She will sing with or without music and we love it!
20. She is still nursing and sometimes she decides she needs to right that second. Usually if she gets sad about something or something upsets her. She will root around my shirt and try to get it up. Once we were floating in the river at Roaring Springs and a kid splashed her with water. This made her sad and she was crying. She started pulling my bikini top to the side trying to nurse! We had to get out! It's pretty funny.
21. If she is tired in her carseat and someone is next to her she will grab their hand and put it to her face. She loves to have her face and hair rubbed when she is tired, but only in her carseat for some reason. The usual recipient of this is Cami. It's very sweet.
22. She is still obsessed with her alligators and has quite the growing collection!
23. She is a table biter. Whenever she's sitting somewhere her mouth can reach the table, usually in a highchair at a restaurant, she bites on the edge of the table and won't let go! Cracks us up!
24. At night if she doesn't want to go to sleep she starts running through all her "tricks" to keep herself awake. Her tricks are: Playing peek-a-boo, playing So Big, Waving, and sticking out her tongue.
25. Lastly, she has QUITE the temper. She has been known to throw major fits! She screams and pounds her fists and throws things! The other day at my office she threw her toy against the wall, then threw herself backward onto the floor on her back and started kicking her legs and pounding her arms! It is very naughty and we have dubbed this the Naughty Nine Months! It is hard not to laugh when she does this, but we try to discipline her as well as we can a baby! She also gets mad while she's eating and will hit my hand and the spoon away which causes a huge mess of baby food all over everything! We are going to have our hands full as she gets older.....

Well, there's a little look into our life with Paiton. It is the best life and we are so happy to have such a perfect little girl! We can't wait to see what else is in store for us!
