Sicky Poo

This is how we spent yesterday:

Poor girl. I was on the computer working and Paiton came waddling in looking very disheveled and said "The poopy is EVERYWHERE!" I ran out to the living room and noticed big puddles on the ground and couch of a bad smelling liquid! I asked her if she threw up, she looked at me confused. She hasn't thrown up since spit up as a baby. I started cleaning the rug and noticed that the vomit was all over her shirt. I stripped her of it and then noticed it was all over her, her back, her arms, her legs, and seeping out of her diaper. The vomit wasn't vomit. My poor baby girl was right, the poopy WAS everywhere!!
Without going into too much detail Paiton had a horrible explosion that left her, the couch, and my rug a mess!! My heart broke for her! I stuck her in the bath and cleaned her up. After her bath she told me "Mommy, I have tummy ache!"
We spent the day snuggling on the couch and eating Pedialyte popsicles. We had a few more diaper episodes but none as bad as the first. I didn't get any work done that I needed to, but it was one of those times where it just didn't matter! I got sick baby snuggles all day and that was way more important!
Today she seems to be much better. I, on the other hand, not so much!!

Long Overdue!

Sorry for the lapse in posting. I just haven't been feeling in the mood I guess!
However, I know there are some people out there eagerly awaiting a new post {ok, maybe not "people", maybe just my husband! ;)} so here is a quick one!
It has been forever since I wrote something so I am sure there is a lot I'm forgetting! Paiton, my mom, my grandma, and I headed to McCall two weekends ago. I was shooting a wedding up there and mom and gma went for fun and to watch Paiton while I did the wedding. It was fun and I'm glad we got to go. As soon as I get some wedding pictures edited I'll post some.
While we were doing that, Matt was playing in a tennis tournament down here. He got third place for men's doubles, and FIRST PLACE for men's singles! That's really good! If you don't know, Matt isn't a singles player! So for him to win was awesome!!
Paiton enjoying an ice cream from My Father's Place in McCall:

Lately Paiton has been very interested in playing with PlayDoh! She loves it so much! She is very good about just playing with it and not trying to eat it or anything! I can't believe how grown up this girl is!!
The other night Daddy wanted some home made cookies, so Paiton and I made some! It was a lot of fun to have her "helping" and she enjoyed it too! She even got to wear the apron Great Grandma Genevieve made for her for the first time!
This weekend we went to Grandma and Grandpa Riggs' to celebrate Grandpa's birthday! Happy Birthday Grandpa!!
Paiton insisted that Grandpa get out of his chair so that she could sit there, and he all too willingly obliged!
Yummy cupcakes!
(Sorry for the terrible quality on all these pictures. Apparently my little camera is not so good!)
Hitching a ride with Unca B!
Playing with Cadon!
And just a couple funny Paiton stories:
~She has started asking us "What are do-nin?" It's very cute and very funny. I guess maybe we ask her what she's doing a lot!
~She and I have a new game we play. She will do something silly like press herself up against a wall, or wrap herself around the door frame, and then she'll yell "Help! I'm stuck!" and after I go and pry her off the wall she'll give me a big hug and say "You saved me!" It's very cute and I am so amazed at how she is so imaginative already!
~My mom {inadvertently} taught her a saying. Apparently if you call a 1 year old a princess enough times, it begins to sink in! ;) Now Paiton will tell us "I'm a princess!" Ha! It's very cute, and she's totally right, she is definitely a princess!!!
And I almost forgot! Last week Cami and I got to go see Brad Paisley in concert!! It was SO much fun! I LOVE Brad Paisley and have always wanted to see him!! I got to go with my concert buddy and we had a blast!!

Go My Daddy!

Here are a few more pictures I found and wanted to share!
First a story that is one of my favorite Paiton stories and I keep forgetting to write it! The other day Paiton was being silly and I was trying to get her to come sit down so I could put her shoes on her. She was running around and wanting me to chase her. Finally I just sat down on the floor and waited for her. She finally ran over to me and sat down and I said "You are a silly girl! Where did you come from!?" and she looks at me a little confused, points to where she had been playing and says "Over there!" Ha ha ha!!
Last weekend we went and had dinner with friends we don't get to see too often, Kari and Jon and their son Franklin. Frankie and P had so much fun playing together!
Dog pile on Daddy!
I got Paiton some big girl panties, Ni Hao Kai Lan ones, and she LOVES to wear them! She looks just too cute in these!! She has not ever had an accident in her panties, but she still hasn't gone in the potty yet either! We're working on it and she's still really young to be potty trained so we're just trying to get her used to the idea so far!
When I told her I wanted to take a picture of her Ni Hao's she pulled up her shirt like this. Silly girl!
Love those buns!!
Prettiest face I have ever seen!
The other afternoon we went to Matt's school to watch him play in a staff vs. student volleyball fundraiser. Paiton loved watching and did her usual cheer for her daddy, "Go my Daddy!", complete with clapping! It was very sweet!
Matt is in the middle facing me in the white shirt. They made us sit up high in the bleachers so I couldn't get a good picture!
The last 3 mornings Paiton has woken up around 3:30 begging for a drink of milk and wide awake. It is exhausting! Each morning we have {luckily} fallen back asleep on the couch after an hour or so. Yesterday morning I just thought she looked so beautiful sleeping that I had to sneak some pictures.
After she woke up she wanted me to wrap her in her Dora blankie and make her snuggly!
This morning I left Paiton with her Gogurt to run to the bathroom and I came out to find her doing this:
It's fun to paint on your table with yogurt!! ;)

2 Dads Birthdays

Ok, I finally got my camera back from my parents house and thought I'd share what was on it.
These are just a few from when we celebrated my dad's birthday on September 5. I managed to get not one single one of the birthday boy or of his presents! But he got some good ones! He got tickets to see KC and the Sunshine Band with Mom, and we and the Lurcooks pitched in together and bought him a nice, new shotgun bag! He got lots of other things too!
Oops! Paiton got her shoes on the wrong feet!
Paiton telling Grandma and Grandpa stories:
I gave Dad a little Malibu Rum bottle with his present, and Ryan found it and pretended to drink it! Silly boy!
Grandma reading the Paiton and Cadon
On September 13 we celebrated Matt's dad's birthday. I don't have any pictures from that at all! Man, I have been a lazy photographer lately! ;)
Every year my friend Kiki who I have known since birth comes up because her husband, Michael, plays on the Nationwide Tour. We got to see her this week and I was so happy to!!
Kiki is 7 months pregnant right now with her first baby boy, Jantzen.
It's kind of funny because exactly 2 years ago I was about 7 months pregnant with Paiton!
Had to get my super model in one of the pictures! She looooved Kiki, and called her Piki!
She also loved Debbie and gave her a big hug when she saw her and wanted to hold her hand while they walked.
On Tuesday Paiton and I got to go to lunch with Kiki at Olive Garden and then walk around the mall. Today we met my mom, Debbie, and Kiki at Olive Garden (again! Ok, we love it!) and had so much fun! Sadly we won't get to see them again before they leave on Sunday. Tomorrow (Saturday) morning Mom, Paiton, Grandma, and I are heading for a quick weekend trip to McCall! I am shooting a wedding up there and Grandma and Mom are coming to watch Paiton while I do that and so we can have some fun before and after the wedding! Matt has a tennis tournament that he is playing men's doubles and men's singles in this weekend. He had his first match yesterday and he cruised! He has THREE tomorrow, so good luck Matty!!
This afternoon I caught Paiton and Titi being teenagers together in Titi's room! :) They were rocking out to some music and while Titi did her hair, Paiton colored on her mirror. So cute!
Have a great weekend!!

Feeding the Giraffes

We had such a fun weekend!
Before I get to that, here are some odds and ends pictures from last week. (I still haven't gotten my little camera back from my mom's house so these are just a few random ones I have taken...)
Paiton wearing a super cute outfit last week ready to go to Barbs! She is still doing SO good at Barb's and loving playing with the kids. Last week she even took a nap for Barb! Amazing!
She insisted on taking Swiper and Papa Bear (the bear Papa won for her at Fuddruckers) with her!

This girl LOVES guacamole!
Yes, that is a guacamole hand print on my couch!! :|
We have also been spending a lot of time on the big girl potty. She hasn't gone in it yet, but she does love to sit on it! She has even been wearing her big girl Ni Hao Kai Lan panties, and hasn't wet them, but again hasn't gone in the potty either!!
I started letting her look at books or sit on her potty while she watches a cartoon in the hopes that she'll accidentally go once, but no such luck yet!
And now, the best part of our weekend!! On Friday Paiton and I picked up Mom and Grandma Riggs and headed to the zoo. We met the Lurcooks there and we got in line to....FEED THE GIRAFFES!! I have been wanting to take Paiton to do this forever and we finally had a day where we could! My mom was VERY excited! She loves giraffes and we couldn't wait!
We got to feed a 5 year old named Julius! Paiton loved the giraffe, but wasn't so interested in feeding him, just looking at him! She called him the "Baby App." Giraffe is a very hard word to say! :)
I love this picture of my mom, you can tell how much fun it was!
In addition to feeding Julius, we got to pet him too!! He was very soft! SO FUN!!

Paiton loves zebras, so she was very excited to see one! She was leaning over the fence yelling "Hello Zebra! Hi!!" trying to get his attention. Very cute!
She also LOVED the lions! So did Ryan!
Ryan checking out the lions:
There he is!

"Do you see the lion Ry Ry?"
Paiton kept saying "Lion! RAWR!"

Cute Ry Ry!
When I told Paiton we were going to the zoo the things she said she wanted to see were elephants and pigs! Of course our zoo has neither! This was the closest we got to seeing an elephant:
Then it was time to play in the Jeep!
Playing on the wooden xylophone

Paiton LOVED the Serval cats! We were cracking up because she would go "Meow!" at them and they would meow back! She thought that was pretty cool!
She was also patting her knee and saying "Come here!" like she does to the dogs!
I think she would have stayed all day watching those cats if she could!
Us in front of the monkeys, which of course Paiton made monkey noises at!
Ryan riding the elephant!
Playing in the sand box
Mommy and Pai going down the giraffe slide
B and Ryan
At first Paiton didn't want anything to do with this giant lizard, then she sat on it and didn't want to get off!
Cute lemurs all snuggled together!
Baby in an egg!
Paiton wanted to ride this tiger so bad that she made Ryan get off, and then she cried the whole time she was on it!
We got to feed the goats and sheep too! Paiton didn't like the goats very much, they were very pushy, but she LOVED to feed the sheep, they were very calm and sweet!
After the zoo we walked over to the park and walked around Art In The Park. We love to do that every year. Such a fun day!!
~ I can't believe I forgot to mention this, but Paiton said the cutest things all day at the zoo! My favorite was that at EVERY animal, whether it was cute or not, she would get this high pitched little voice and say "It's so cute!" It was so funny and so sweet. Little does she know that she was, by far, the cutest little animal at the zoo!! :)
