The Lurcooks are here!!

Well, the Lurcooks have made it here! Yay! I was supposed to pick them up yesterday at noon at the airport. Yesterday morning Brandon called and said that their first flight was late leaving, which caused them to miss their connecting flight so they had to be re routed. They didn't end up getting here until 4:30. Here they are walking in!!
Cadon was so cute, he acted like he had never left. Just said "Hi Titi! Where's Uncle Matt?" He is such a good talker now, it's so cute. And of course I got to meet Ryan for the first time!! He is SO cute and such a sweetie. We tried to get a picture with the two boys, but Ryan was trying to escape!
The car driving home was about as packed as it could have been! We had Me and Brandon in the front, Carissa, Paiton and Ryan in the next row, then Cadon and suitcases in the back row!

All the cousins:
Cadon still loves Baby P so much. He kept rubbing her face and her ears and giving her her binky if he thought she needed it.
As soon as we got to Nana and Papa's Cadon insisted I pull out his horse so he could ride it. He kept yelling "Hee Haw!"
Here is Abba meeting Ryan!
Just checking each other out...
If it looks like Ryan is the same size as Pai - he is! They are almost exactly the same size. She is 10 1/2 months old and he is 5 1/2 months old.
He kept putting her binky in his mouth and she would just giggle at him.
Me with my favorite babies!
To add to the craziness Cami had a soccer game last night. Paiton and I headed out there to watch. It was cold so we had to bundle up!
Paiton was so exhausted from not taking any naps since Sunday and not sleeping well at night she ended up like this not too long into the game:
She just snoozed through all the cheering and whistle blowing and everything! What a tired little baby! So cute!
Today is another crazy day for us so hopefully it goes well. I took Paiton to the babysitters on Monday and it went ok I guess. Nani Kathy said that she cried the whole time unless she was holding her. She kept pointing to the window and wanting to look out for me :( Very sad. But she was happy to see me and I was even more happy to see her! Today she will go again and I hope she is in a better mood. I have a work meeting this morning and Paiton has a doctor's appointment to check her ears, so that means no nap and probably a grump mood again! Wish us luck!

Big Changes

We have some big changes happening in our lives this week! This is definitely going to be a crazy week for us. Here's what's happening.
Today I start my new job. It is 2 hours a day, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It is at Matt's middle school. I will be doing PSR again, which I swore I would never do, but extra money is always nice.
What this means is that Paiton will be starting at the babysitters today! She lives right across the street from the school, it takes less than 2 minutes to get from her house to the school, so that's nice. I took Pai last week to meet the lady, Kathy, and play with her. All the kids call her Nani. She is a very nice lady and Paiton really liked her! She played with her and showed her her toys, so I think she'll be just fine. My stomach is a little sick and I'm very anxious already to get this over with and see how it goes. Matt said that if it doesn't work or it's too stressful I can quit :) What a nice guy. I think it will be good for Paiton. I hope she is a nice girl to Nani Kathy!
Tonight we are going out to dinner with some of our good friends, Scott and Jenny. They are getting married on Saturday! Matt is the best man and I am the photographer!
Tomorrow a second big change happens. The Lurcooks get here! Paiton and I will be picking them up from the airport around noon and they will officially be Idaho residents! I can't believe we haven't even met Ryan yet! We are so excited to grab those boys and give them lots of loves! Mom and Dad are back in Virginia because they are going to be driving Brandon's car back for him. It will take them about 5 days to get back here I think. That's a LONG trip! There's not much they won't do for their kids, that's for sure.
SO until then it is up to us and Grandma and Grandpa to make sure Spencer and Cami are taken care of and get where they need to be! Cami has a couple soccer games this week, eye appointments, etc. At least we'll get to see a lot of them this week!
This weekend is also crazy. Thursday night Matt is having Scott over to play Playstation - this is what he wanted instead of a bachelor party! So Paiton and I have been more or less kicked out and will be staying at Grandma's house! That should be fun! Friday Matt is taking off to help with wedding stuff. The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner are that day. Matt's adult tennis team he plays on also made it to districts so thrown in there somewhere is a match he has to play. Saturday is the wedding, and another tennis match in the morning. Mom and Dad get home on Saturday. Sunday is more tennis and maybe a little rest before the next week starts?
Crazy I tell you. I guess we better get moving, I am just reluctant to because once we start it doesn't end for awhile!!

Paiton Rocks

It has been a little while since I updated with what we've been doing. Here's some things that have happened over the last week:
Grandpa had a birthday! Happy Birthday Grandpa! We love you!

Paiton made a mess with Grandma's magazines:

We had a play date with Pai's look alike, Shaun Jr.:

We took good naps:

We smashed bananas all over our face:

We started a new Locke Family tradition:

Sunday breakfast at this fun little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Good food and good times!
P really loves to read books. She has a bunch of books and she will hold one up to you to read. Over and over and over! She is so funny. She is very good and letting you know what she wants by pointing to things. She still hasn't picked up the sign to "eat" yet, but I'm not very good at being consistent with doing it to her. If she is hungry she will look at me and smack her lips and that means she wants food! It's pretty cute. She is also talking more and more. This morning we were all laying in bed and I put my finger in her mouth to feel her teeth and she pulled my hand out and said "Heeeeeey!" It was so funny, Matt and I were cracking up! This afternoon Matt left for tennis and said "Bye P!" and she said "Bye!"
Paiton is quite the little dancing queen. The other day she was fast asleep on the couch and I was folding laundry and watching TV. A song came on and she started bouncing to it in her sleep! It was hilarious! I about fell off the couch laughing. Here are some videos of the dancing queen!

And here is a video of her throwing a fit, just because it's funny!

Pumpkin Patch Baby

I haven't blogged in a few days and it seems like a lot has happened since then! We had fun seeing Kiki and Michael this week. I didn't take any more pictures this week with them but Kiki did, so when she posts hers I will steal them and put them up!
Here are a couple pictures of Paiton I took throughout the week of Pai, just cute things I caught her doing.
One day she pulled everything out of the diaper bag one by one. Then she went back and pulled out a bunch of wet wipes and started cleaning the floor! What a good helper! She also enjoys my high heels!
This was at the beginning of her mess making!
She also gets around and into things all the time now! She enjoyed pulling things off the TV stand shelves one morning:
My cute little napper:

On Friday Mom, Paiton, Matt and I went to lunch, then Paiton and I spent the night at my parents house and Spencer spent the night at our house with Matt. We went and played games at Grandma and Grandpa's, always a good time! On Saturday we took Paiton to a pumpkin patch! It was so fun! It was her first trip and she seemed to like it!

We saw a baby camel - only 2 months old!
We all loved this baby llama.

We discovered that Paiton loves scarecrows! She kept waving at them and wanting to touch them!

Nana found Paiton some perfect, baby-sized pumpkins to get!!

On the hayride to the pumpkins

This sheep really loved Mom and kept trying to steal all the food!

Paiton always loves to watch Titi's soccer games:
On Sunday we went to a craft show downtown with Mom and Grandma and Paiton wore her cute new beanie because it was a little chilly in the wind!
Paiton now can say the words Mama, Uh-oh, Abba, and Papa. She also pats her legs to say "dog" and get the dogs to come to her. She still won't say Dada and Matt takes it very personally! She sure loves her daddy though. When he walks in the door after work she gets very excited and wants to stand up on the couch so she can see him come up the stairs! It's too cute.
I had a little job offer come up next week. Matt's school had an opening for a PSR worker 2 hours a day in the afternoons. I talked to the lady that was going to babysit Paiton when I was pregnant, before I quit my job, and she had an opening! So I will be working at Matt's school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for 2 hours a day and Paiton will go to the babysitters and get to play with some other babies! I hope she does good. (And that I do good as well!)
Also on Saturday Cameron's boyfriend, Rykley, asked us to get Cami out of the house so he could ask her to Homecoming. We forced her to go to the pumpkin patch with us and while we were out he set up a scavenger hunt around their house where he hid roses. She gathered them all and they spelled out this:
"Will you grace me with your beauty and Homecoming?"
Too cute! On Sunday she wrote YES on his bed in rose petals! Very cute!!
