From Happy to Mad!

I wanted to put some pictures up from my ultrasound this morning. It was a lot of fun! The tech told me that Paiton now weighs 3 pounds! Yay! I also found out some really cool stuff. They showed me the hair on head! Yay - she has hair!! And also we learned that her cheeks are really chubby! I think you'll be able to tell in some of the pictures. It is just way too cute. She also appears to have pretty big Angelina Jolie like lips. Not sure where those came from!!!

So this is the only 3D picture we got. When it was time to do those P was laying head down with her face pointed towards my back. Of course!! Notice the lips and chubby cheeks!!

This is a cute profile one of her getting ready to suck her thumb, or maybe she's just giving me a thumb's up letting me know she's alright!
Another profile, she's just too precious!
When the tech was trying to get a shot of her nose and lips she kept sticking her tongue out at us. It was way too cute. So here's a picture. It's look up her nose and you can see her sticking her tongue out!! We didn't get a picture of it but I also got to watch her move her eyes around!!
Now on to the bad part of my day....I ran home real quick to get my lunch, and when I walked in the baby gate we put at the top of the stairs to keep the dogs downstairs, was knocked down and thrown to the bottom of the stairs. Uh oh. This is what I saw when I walked upstairs:

These pictures really don't do the damage justice. They had completely emptied the trash all over my floor. They ate raw meat, melted ice cream, chocolate cookies, who knows what else. Not only that but....
They managed to somehow OPEN the fridge, get out some old enchiladas, and eat them. Then they moved on to trying to eat some raw bacon. As well as pull my towels down and knock over the broom.
Here is the gate along with some more trash at the bottom of the stairs.

Needless to say this did not go over well with the pregnant ladies hormones. I yelled at the dogs and locked them in my bedroom for fear that I might just bag them up with the garbage and let the trash man deal with them, then I sat on the floor with my rubber gloves and garbage bag and cried for a few minutes while texting Matt furiously letting him know the evil that had taken over my sweet puppies. Then I took a couple pictures, then I cleaned it up. Can you even believe this!? I am so mad at those stupid dogs right now! I am also REALLY excited to go home and see how much barf I'm probably going to have to pick up. Greeeeat.....

P.S. Just a little update. I just finally got back to work. I called the vet to ask if I needed to do anything or just let my dogs suffer with tummy aches after eating all kinds of crap (including some raw eggs I found under the couch later...) and she said to feed them both hydrogen peroxide which will induce vomiting. Lucky me. So I got to sit outside in the heat, in my work clothes, and try to shove hydrogen peroxide down the dogs throats, and then wait while they threw up all over the place. Now I can tell you exactly which dog ate what! And I can also tell you that Kotah ate a TON of enchiladas, and they smell exactly the same thrown up as they do fresh. I think I'm done eating enchiladas for awhile. I am obviously still feeling sorry for myself and for the dogs! I felt so guilty making them throw up. And it's not like they just throw up once, oh no, it's about 10 solid minutes of multiple pukings. Great. And everyone feels the need to warn me about having a baby. Do you people know the dogs I have and the crap (literally) I have gone through with them!? I have been around PLENTY of babies and none has ever disgusted me like my little Shibas have...

3-D ultrasound!

Hey everyone! Brandon left bright and early this morning on the ship. Over here in Idaho though it was dark and early!! He is off! His first stop is in a couple weeks in Israel. I will keep all of you updated through the blog as he writes us! We can't wait to hear from him ASAP - hopefully in a couple days!!

Matt and I got some exciting news today! A girlfriend of mine's aunt owns an imaging place that does MRI's, Ultrasounds, CT scans, etc. They are trying to get a special kind of Ultrasound license and they need a woman from each week of pregnancy to work on! So I get to have another ultrasound tomorrow and it's FREE!! They said it will take about 1 1/2 hours and it's going to be the 3-D kind!! Matt wanted this but they are so expensive, and to me, creepy! So we'll see how it goes. I'm really excited to see Paiton again, but I hope that the 3-D doesn't freak me out. I'm kind of a baby like that!! I will definitely be putting pictures up so check back tomorrow or Thursday!

Matt and his dad are going to work on painting Paiton's room this weekend! Woohoo! Oh wait, that means it needs to get emptied out...Oh boy! I have no idea where all of that stuff is going to go. Her room is packed wall to wall with stuff and clothes and diapers and I have nowhere to put it!! This should be interesting....I will also be putting up pictures of her room when it's done, but I have a feeling that won't be for awhile yet.... Anyway, that's my little blurb today! I hope everyone is thinking about Brandon and Carissa and Cadon! They get here tomorrow and Matt and I can't wait to steal our favorite boy again for a slumber party!! That boy has his Uncle Matt wrapped around his chubby little finger, that's for sure!! Oh and on a totally different side note, we have decided what we're going to be for Halloween! (Early, I know, but our friends Ed and Tricia love Halloween and are already planning their party!) Tricia thought of such a good thing for me to be since the theme of their party this year is movie characters I will be....Juno! How funny is that!? Matt's going to be the boyfriend in the track outfit with the short shorts!! It should be pretty funny...Anyway... More later!

Goodbye To Brandon

As everyone I'm sure knows, Brandon is getting deployed tomorrow to go to the Gulf. (I say this like I actually know where that is. I don't. But I do know it's far away and I don't like it.)
I just wanted to dedicate a little blog to B!! He is one of my best friends in the world and a great brother, although it took me many years to realize this! There is nothing that he wouldn't do for anyone and there is no time that he is not making someone laugh! The boys on the boat with him will definitely be entertained! I know that he will be safe and that although he will miss us all and we will miss him too, he will get to see some amazing things. He gets to go to port in some really cool places and will hopefully get some cool souvenirs and pictures to show us all when he gets back. We're not sure how long he'll be gone, probably 7-9 months, but we will be counting down until he gets back! Luckily he gets to email us and can receive packages on the boat. PLEASE please send him stuff so that he can know everyone is thinking about him! If you need the address to the boat, email me and I'll send it to you. Hopefully he'll get to make some calls at times too, that would be great.
I will definitely be sending him pictures all the time so that he doesn't miss out on too much! The second Paiton is born I'm sending someone to print her pictures and put them in the mail so he can see his little neice!
Please keep him in your prayers, I know he'll be lonely at first, but I think he'll have an awesome time and a little part of me is jealous he gets to see all those cool sights that otherwise he probably wouldn't ever see!!
B - we love you sooo much! We are sure going to miss you! Obviously we don't get to see you that much now, but just knowing that I can call you anytime I want makes it easier. Now I'm not so lucky!! We promise not to have too much fun without you, although with Cadon that's hard :) We'll all take good care of Carissa and Cadon, so don't worry about them. Enjoy your trip, make some new friends, hang out on the ocean, and see the cool different countries!! We are all wishing we could be there with you! Please take pictures and send them to us and keep us updated as much as you can!! I will be thinking you day and night and I will miss you so much! I am so sorry I didn't get to make my trip out there or say a real goodbye to you! But know that I love you and I will be there without a doubt when you get off that boat!!!! I can't wait, it's going to be awesome!!
So, to Brandon --

GOOD LUCK B!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

Hard at work

Just wanted to post this super cute picture of Cadon I took. He's a very hard worker, as you can see.

Retraction

I would like to post a retraction. Mom says I'm in time out now too because I did too much yesterday and that Paiton was paying me back. She says Paiton's a good girl and I'm a bad girl who's in very much trouble. So I would like to retract my previous post. Yesterday I worked until 1 pm. After that I went home and laid on the couch. I put Matt on my beck and call and he made me steak and potatoes for dinner and I didn't get up or move one inch the rest of the day. I watched girly movies and ate ice cream. Then I went to bed at 8:00 pm and woke up refreshed this morning.

=)

Paiton's First Time Out

I know what you're thinking..."You can put a fetus in time out?" Well, yes and no. This morning I put Paiton in a time out. Why? Because I was on the verge of losing my mind. Or maybe I already had and the result was a nonborn child being put in a time out. Yesterday was a looong day for us. I worked for the first time in over a week. I left early at about 1 pm but then helped Matt get supplies for his new classroom and get the classroom ready. So we didn't even get home until 10 pm. Which means we were gone from 7:15 am to 10 pm. That was a long day for me considering prior to yesterday I had been on my feet exactly zero hours a day. Not smart, I know Mom. Sorry. Luckily I felt fine, just tired and achy. At about 11 after eating dinner from Wendy's (where they "ran out of chicken nuggets". What is that?! How does Wendy's run out of chicken nuggets. I am still pouting about this...) we finally went to bed. I laid on my heating pad and it felt oh so good. At about the time Matt fell asleep Paiton woke up. And apparently decided to have a dance party and invite all her fetus friends to my uterus. No joke. That baby moved and kicked and swirled and rolled and jabbed ALL NIGHT LONG. Maybe she is celebrating the Olympics? I don't know. I could feel some swimming, some definitely fencing, some parallel bars, and possibly some trampoline gymnastics. I begged and pleaded with my unborn child to stop so Mommy could get some rest. Nope. I couldn't get comfortable and eventually just gave in and spent the night wide awake imagining what it looked like in there. It was pretty entertaining. Although by about 4:45 am when I thought it MUST be time to get up I was not such a happy camper. So I endured another hour until it was time to actually get up and then I informed Matt and Paiton that she was in a time out. Poor Matt couldn't understand why I was glaring at him and refusing to speak this morning, I forgot he slept through the nights events.
So back to the question, can you put a fetus in time out? Well yes, and I did. I informed her of it and that I did not appreciate the Olympics in the middle of the night when I was already not feeling great. Then holding back tears (emotional!?) I told Matt that I was done being pregnant and that November better get here QUICK because I want this baby out and I want to never be pregnant again. The No part of putting her in time out - she's an unborn baby. She is still in there rolling and punching and having a grand time. I don't know where she gets this energy. Oh yes I do, she sucks it all from me!! This baby better be cute!!! ;)

Update/Pictures

Ok everyone, I haven't been able to post for awhile so I'll give you all an update and put up the rest of the pictures I have of the Lurcook's trip. Tuesday morning I woke up with what I thought was just a bladder infection. The doctor called me in a prescription but about an hour later I felt like someone had punched me in the back on the right side. Long story short, it got worse and worse and I ended up going to the hospital that afternoon. They tested my urine which was very infected and gave me a new prescription and some pain medicine and sent me home with a strainer in case I had a kidney stone. That night I had two kidney stones but the pain didn't go away. It kept getting worse and the pain meds didn't really touch it. Wednesday I saw my doctor who said it was probably a kidney stone stuck somewhere and to keep doing what I was doing. Wednesday night was miserable and Thursday I hurt constantly and couldn't even take deep breaths. Matt took me back to the hospital Thursday afternoon and they admitted me. I stayed in Antepartum Thursday night and didn't get to leave until about 8 pm on Friday. When I first got there I was having a lot of contractions and they were bad/frequent enough to require them to give me a shot of something to stop them. The first shot didn't work so I got a second one. That helped. Little Paiton stayed where she was. After that they gave me a shot of Morphine which the nurse told me would take away the pain and basically make me pass out - finally, some sleep! Well she gave me the shot and was amazed when it did....NOTHING! It didn't help one bit and I was still fully awake and aware of the pain I was in. Then they hooked me up to a morphine drip, the kind where you push the button anytime you need some. That seemed to help and for the first couple of hours I was pushing that button every 10 minutes. After we got on top of the pain it was bearable. So I spent the night in the hospital and ended up having to say goodbye to B, Carissa, and Cadon from my hospital bed :(
Today is Saturday and I am doing better. It still hurts but mostly only when I walk or move. Not just sitting anymore, which is good! They sent me home with some new pain meds, but I haven't take any yet. It makes me nervous to take all these drugs and not know what they could be doing to Paiton. So I'll wait and see how it goes. My family came to visit me twice - thanks for making the long drive guys!! And they brought me flowers. Rheayn also came to visit and bring me pretty flowers! Too sweet. And of course my hubby was there for the whole thing and took nothing short of AMAZING care for me. Needless to say, we are seriously considering that Paiton might be an only child. This has not been the easiest of pregnancies and we may call it quits after this! On the other hand, she may end up so perfect that we might need to make another one! :) Either way, we can't wait until she gets here - 86 days until my due date. Woohoo!
Oh and for those of you who asked - I got accepted into grad school. I got accepted into the Master's of Social Work program at BSU. I had to tell them that I'm having a baby in the fall so that probably won't work, but they deferred my admission to next fall. So fall of 2009 I'm already on the roster and don't have to reapply. Woohoo!
So I didn't get to spend much time with the Lurcook's at the end of their trip which really bummed me out. The doctor also said I can't fly to Virginia next week like planned :( That makes me really sad and I can't really think about it right now. Here are some of the pictures I have from the end of their time here:

Playing on the trampoline with Abba and Mymy

The next few pics are from when Cadon spent the night with Uncle Matt and I. Then Matt had to go to work the next day so Cadon and I hung out and it was sooo fun!! He is a great little buddy to have and I am so excited for him to live here soon!

Playing on the stairs with Keilah - his new best friend and just his size!He got exhausted and laid on the floor :)
Cadon wanted to play with the guitar so bad. Here he is playing Guitar Hero :)

Playing on the bed with Keilah. He found this big chair at Target and wanted to sit in it. Titi lets him do pretty much whatever he wants!
Anyone who knows Cadon knows his obsession with balls!! He loooved these "Big balls" outside of Target. It was traumatizing when we had to say goodbye to them.
Right before this he was actually hugging the ball....
Looking at the fish at Petco, another thing I discovered he loves. How easy is this kid to entertain!?
He had way too much fun with Titi and fell asleep in the car on the way home.
Abba and Cadon
Nana and Cadon
Walking after eating lunch with Nana and Papa.
Cami and Cadon
Look at that hair! Eating cake before we went to get our pictures taken.

In the overalls Titi got him.
We had so much fun with them visiting! I hope everyone likes the pictures. We did get family pictures taken on Sunday. I wish I had a video camera with me when we did. Cadon had a hard time sitting still and "posing" so we ended up having to bribe him with rocks. Who would have thought....rocks!! At the end the photographer wanted to take some pictures of just Cadon and I wish you all could have been there. He was like a miniature super model! He was posing and putting his hands up on his hand and twirling around. It was the funniest thing ever. He even went and posed behind a tree. Too cute!! As soon as I get those pictures I'll put some up here. They should be good!!

And....

And I just realized that Paiton is due three months from today! I am officially in the third trimester! Woohoo!! Finally! What a milestone! And for anyone who likes to keep track (Mom and Aunt Lisa :)) Paiton weighs over 2 pounds - about the same as a head of cauliflower! And she is over 14 1/2 inches long! Woohoo! No wonder I feel kicks and pokes all over the place!
I have to say I am excited for Paiton to get here although I have had fun (most of the time) being pregnant. I think my only complaints would be the terrible morning sickness for about 16 weeks, and now the back pain and random leg cramps in the middle of the night. (Man those suck!!) Anyway, just thought I'd update you all on Paiton since this IS her blog ;)

Love!!!

Wow, I did not know you could love someone as much as I love Cadon. That little boy has got his Uncle Matt and Titi wrapped around his chubby little fingers. We took Cadon last night so that Brandon and Carissa could have a date night and hang out with B's friends. It was the best! I wish that I didn't have to give him back. He is the sweetest little baby I have ever met, and I have met a lot of babies! He is full of kisses and hugs and back rubs. This morning after Matt left early for work I got to spend a few hours with Cadon by myself. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, I don't know, but I seriously considered not giving him back! We went to Target and Petco and he is just so smart and so entertaining. He is my new best friend! I can't put up pictures right now but I will tonight or tomorrow. I wish all of you could know Cadon like we do and hopefully someday you will. We feel so lucky to have such an awesome kid be a part of our life. Matt and I can't wait to give him a cousin and for Cadon to live here. Then I really won't give him back!!!!

Are you ready for all this?

Ok so as you all know Brandon, Cadon, and Carissa got here Thursday night. I am going to post some pictures of what we've been doing since then. Let me give you a rundown while you prepare yourself for all the pictures!! Cadon is just the cutest little baby I have ever seen in my life. He has such a funny little personality. Matt and I also got a new video camera so once I figure out how to post videos, prepare yourselves! I think this blog may have just become Cadon's blog.
Thursday was kind of crazy as they got stuck in Virginia and couldn't leave due to storms in Atlanta where they were headed. By some miracle they left over 2 hours late but still made their connecting flight! Woohoo! So here they came!
Poor Cadon was exhausted by the time they got here.
He slept and slept on Uncle Matt and Papa while we waited for luggage.
The gang waiting for their luggage to show. Which it did. Yay!
Auntie, Paiton, Uncle, and Cadon. We love you so much little man!!
While we were waiting Mom asked me if I could see my toes. Which I hadn't considered yet. Here's the answer.....a big fat NOPE! This picture is looking down to see my view of things.
On Friday Matt and I worked on his classroom a little bit in the morning. Then we met everyone at the mall where we had lunch and walked around. We did some shopping and then headed home. Aunt Lisa and Uncle Tim stopped by to pay a visit! They brought Cadon some birthday presents and it was a good time! Aunt Lisa kept pulling presents out and Cadon kept saying "more! more!" Friday night everyone headed over to our house and we had a BBQ. B, C, and C stayed here with us that night. Matt put Brandon to work helping him set up the new surround sound and taking down the old one. Thanks B! Cadon even slept in Matt and I's bed! It was so fun and he is such a little snuggler!

Here is Matt in HIS classroom! Yay!! Congrats Mr. Matt!At the mall Cadon really wanted to ride a "bug" sooo bad! But he wouldn't stay in his own stroller, so against my personal opinion, we did not get him one ;)
Aunt Lisa is so fun! She pushed Cadon around on this scooter for I don't know how long in the 100 degree weather with bare feet. That pavement was HOT!
Cadon giving Uncle Matt or "Matt Matt" as he calls him some loves
Cadon and "Titi" (Both Cami and I are Titi)
Cadon wanted to play XBox like the big boys!
Even though this picture doesn't look like it, he was having a blast having Carissa blow bubbles in his face! I promise we weren't torturing him!
After a bath Cadon always wants to be wrapped up mummy style. He's the cutest mummy I've ever seen!
Laying on Uncle Spencer (Abba - he can't say Spencer or Uncle and we don't know where Abba came from. Maybe because Spencer's a dancing queen)
Finally fell asleep on Dada.

Saturday the 5 of us (B, C, C, Matt and I) went out to breakfast and to the farmers market like Matt and I always do on Saturdays. Then we went to a Art show in the park by our house and Cadon had fun playing on the toys. After that we headed into Meridian where we had Brandon's "surprise" going away party. I ended up just telling him about it because I think he was on to us....Some of his friends showed up and all of our family that is here. It was so much fun and I think Brandon enjoyed it. Cadon and Dane sure enjoyed the water toys at the park. This park is really cool and we can't wait to take Paiton and Cadon together! It has an entire little kids water park section, a rock climbing section, and a sound garden! It was fun for everyone!! Saturday night we had dinner at Mom's and then Brandon and Spencer came home with us so that the boys could play XBox together.

Cadon playing the Wii. He's actually really good at bowling. I think he may have beat my high score.Wearing a construction hat. Hey, that's what we do here on Saturday mornings!
In true Lurcook style Cadon already knows how to work the digital camera and takes pictures of himself. No, I'm not kidding. There are about 7 more just like this.
Me, Cadon, and Carissa walking to the Farmer's Market.
A nice man offered to take a picture of all of us! We're just so dang cute!!

Titi, Cadon, And Matt MattWalking at the Market
Cadon and Matt Matt at the art show
Awww how cute are they!?
The boys playing on the merry go round

Cadon on the left, Uncle Matt on the right. Playing at the park is fun for everyone!!Dane and Grandpa.
Dane loooved the water and he was NOT happy when it was time to stop playing! :(
Mark and Matt on their rock climbing adventure. Pointing out their final destination.
They were not happy when I took this one to show what they had actually climbed.

Brandon, Matt, and Cami on top of the rocksMark and Cadon playing in the sound garden.
Cadon also loved the water and had so much fun. He got soaking wet and freezing but enjoyed every minute!!
Stomping on the water.
Playing on the trampoline with Dada.

Swinging with Nana in the backyard!
Brandon has a hard time believing I'm actually pregnant. Yes Brandon, there's a baby in there.... This is maybe my favorite picture. Spencer was writing and Cadon wanted up to sit with him and write too! So he and Abba spent some time writing together. Is that not the cutest thing ever!?
Cadon laying and having a bottle. He and Matt Matt were watching the Olympics together!!

Today is Sunday and so far the agenda for the day is that Matt is playing tennis until 1. So the rest of us will hang out until he gets home. Then it's time to get ready for family pictures! Which apparently I am the only one looking forward to this event. After that Matt and Spencer and I are going to see a movie that Spencer has been waiting FOREVER to see! Mom is going to babysit Cadon while Brandon and Carissa go on a date night! Then Cadon is coming home with us again and we will babysit him the rest of the night and tomorrow morning. Yay!! I will definitely be putting up more pictures and videos. (I know, more!?!?! Brace yourselves....and be happy I didn't post all the pictures I have taken. You'd be here all day!!)
