Wowsers I need to stop letting my blog get so far behind!
Where to start? I guess I'll just go by the pictures I have to share and hope I don't leave out anything important!!
As usual we have been spending a lot of time with our friends, The Lesters. Many weeknights and every weekend we are with them and I'm pretty sure Paiton now thinks she has two sisters!
Paiton loved dot painting at their house last weekend:
The other morning I had to wake Paiton up so I could go to work and she was NOT happy. She came and pouted on the bathroom floor while I took a shower and ended up falling asleep there :)
Last Wednesday I turned 23 weeks pregnant (today I am 24 weeks pregnant, I'll get a picture up sometime before I turn 25 weeks :))
My friend Kim - 26 weeks, and I - 23 weeks
My "official" 23 week belly shot:
I don't think I have any new news on Quinn...he is still moving around quite a bit more than he used to. I started having Braxton Hicks contractions, which usually don't hurt, are just kind of weird and make my stomach rock hard, but sometimes they really hurt and I remember this happening with Paiton too. Other than that not much to report. Projects for their room are coming right along and I can't WAIT to share those soon!!
Last week Grandma Riggs and Mom came out to go to the Joanns in Nampa so Paiton and I went and met them. Paiton insisted on wearing her headband AND crown, it was a good look.
And she loves this little Rapunzel doll that her friend Cohen gave her for Christmas, she goes everywhere with us:
This is funny, as I was getting Paiton into her carseat she dropped Rapunzel, who happened to land balanced on her arm. Paiton looked down and said "Oh! She fell asleep. Good night Rapunzel!" I had to get a picture, it was too cute. I had to drive extra carefully because Paiton didn't want her falling off her arm and waking up!
Paiton loves to "play" the driving games! Anytime we walk past one she'll run over to it and say "I wanna drive!"
On Friday night Matt and I had a quick date night. My parents gave us a gift card for Chili's for Christmas and it came with babysitting! I would venture to say that it's been at least 6 months since we've gone out without baby. AT LEAST. So we dropped her off at my parents and headed to eat. We even had a coupon for a free appetizer, so we were really living the high life. We got there, got seated right away, got our food right away, and were done within probably 40 minutes of getting there. We thought we'd go walk around Dicks and Hobby Lobby for awhile BUT then we got a frantic call from Spencer. He had just gotten in an accident and Mom and Dad weren't answering their phones. Date night of 40 minutes = OVER!
We of course rushed over to where Spencer was to make sure he was ok and to be the awesome big siblings we are and talk trash about the guy who hit him, take some pictures with our phones, and get yelled at by the police for jaywalking to get to the accident.
Spencer was OK, although I did ask him 4,697 times to make sure!
He and Matt drove the car home and it seems to be mostly cosmetic damage. And a little damage to Spencer's pride too, I think.
The other morning I came out of the shower to find Paiton sitting on the couch putting on her "face cream":
She kept saying "It smells so good!"
The other day when I went to check on Paiton during her nap this is what I saw:
The sweetest little baby feet in the world!
Lately Paiton has been carrying around this Janet Evonovich book and calling it "My book." It takes naps with her, it sits on the couch with her, she "reads" it every day, etc.
When I asked her why she liked it so much, she opened to the back cover to the picture of the author and said "That's my Ema!" So Grandma Riggs, here you go, apparently you are a famous author and Paiton just loves your work! ;)

Liz and I have been working on a cool project for the girls. They are hard to explain, but when we ever get done with them I will post pictures. They are kindergarten learning tools. They are called File Folder Games and they teach letters, numbers, colors, etc. Paiton will just love it! She already knows all her colors and can recognize some letters and numbers, but I think in no time she'll be knowing them all. In other genius news, as I was working on my class for work the other day there was a chart listing out how kids should be talking at what age. As I went through it Paiton is at about and almost above the language abilities of a 60 month old!! That's a 5 year old! She speaks in complete sentences, makes up stories, plays make believe, etc. There wasn't anything on there she couldn't do! Such a smarty pants! :)
This weekend the girls did some more dot painting at the Lesters:
Auni and Paiton
Do I have something on my face?
Then it was time to get jammies on and Paiton and Auni had matching ones!
Monday was MLK day so there was no school. We packed up and headed out with the Lesters on an awesome adventure. As we were getting ready to leave, Paiton somehow got her boot stuck under the couch and pulled off her foot. She had a heck of a time getting it un-stuck!
We went to a really cool place that is nearly impossible to describe. It is a walking path that has hundreds of statues and bird houses and just cool things to look at, including a replica of Jesus' tomb! It was just crazy and the girls loved it! The really cool thing about it was that they raise lots of peacocks! I got lots of cool pictures (although none with their feathers up, dang!) but I will save those for another post!
In other news that probably no one cares about, my mom got Cami and I this awesome book. It's called the Curly Girl Handbook. It's about how to take care of your hair if it's curly/wavy/frizzy. I love it. Cameron made fun of me because in my nerdy way I went through and highlighted all the important stuff and put sticky notes in the book. It teaches you what to do and what not to do with curly hair so that it gets healthier and starts looking better. It's a process and takes a few weeks for your hair to look as good as it should, but I started it Monday night. Yesterday was Day 1 of Curly Girl hair! :) Matt is laughing at me as he reads this, I can feel it. Basically you don't straighten your hair again, ever, because it fries it and you have to start all over. Fine by me, like I have time to sit and straighten my hair!? I can't tell you the last time I used my straightener! :) Liz and I are doing it together because she has hair similar to mine. So here is a picture of my curly hair, day 1.
