I know, I know....

Sorry! Yet another phone picture update! :) Better than no update, eh!? ;) 

Quinn picking strawberries at Grandma Kathy's house - this has always been one of Paiton's favorite summer activities, and now Quinn's too!

 We have had Roaring Springs passes every summer for years, before I even got married or pregnant! Paiton has spent every summer here, but, as we all know, is so NOT brave! This year she decided she really wanted to do the kiddie tube slide!! I hauled her and Kylie's tubes up and they excitedly ran up (Ky being naturally much braver than P had already done it before) and sat Paiton in the tube! I waited for a fearful meltdown, but it never came!! Yay!! Aunt Stacie waited at the bottom and down she went!! We were all so excited she was brave enough to do it! 

 Yay!

 I even took a video!! (Yes, I was that excited!) And I love this b/c if you listen closely you can hear her yelling "Weeee!"

I'm so glad the kids love the water so much. They're both little fish. Quinn has NO fear. His favorite thing to do is splash himself in the face and head dive into the water, giving me a heart attack!! They both have decided they love the wave pool. Paiton likes to run up and down the "shore" while the waves hit her and yell "I'm a beach girl!" and Quinn thinks it's hysterical to sit and let the waves hit his belly! The California girl inside me is so proud! (And so excited to take them to the real beach!!)

Tuesday was Brandon's birthday so we went to their house for cake. Ryan (begrudgingly) took Quinn for a ride in the Escalade. 

 Quinn loved it and was screeching and clapping the whole time, especially when Ryan would go "fast" or go down a bump! Finally Ryan had enough, pulled up to us and said "Quinn, out!"

Good morning!!

We had a fun weekend! On Saturday night Matt and I actually got to go out with some of our friends! It was SO fun! We went to dinner at Red Robin, then to get some drinks at the sports bar while we waited for our movie to start. Then we saw The Chernobyl Diaries. It was really fun to get to do that!
The even better part of our weekend was that Matt was playing in a tennis tournament throughout the weekend. He and his partner ended up getting first place! It was so fun, I got to go watch two matches and my parents came to watch the finals match!! 

GOOD JOB MATT!! You rock!!

Spring Recital

Paiton had her Spring Recital a couple weeks ago and MAN, was it cute! She was, as usual, the star of the show. ;) So much so that the people sitting next to us were talking about her during their dance!

We are so lucky to have such a beautiful and amazing daughter! She loves to dance and we will make sure she gets to continue to as long as she wants! :)

I have a video of their dress rehearsal, but it won't upload! :( I'll keep trying!

Until then, a couple funny Paiton stories
   ~Driving the other day Paiton tells me "Mom, your light is green, go!" (She's my constant back seat driver). I reply - "No, I'm turning, my light is red." Her response - "Ugh, whatever. When I'm 16 I'll just drive myself."  =)
   ~A couple of songs she regularly sings: We Are Young, I'm Sexy And I Know It (I know, sounds totally inappropriate, but it's SO cute with her little bum shake and she has no idea what it means, so I'm good with it!), all the Adele songs and all The Band Perry songs.

~I should also mention that Quinn can Army crawl like a fool now and nothing is safe! He's doing so great and making amazing progress, we are so proud of our little man. He has found his voice and can be LOUD when he feels the need. :)

 Paiton is finally comfortable going down her slide by herself. :) She looooves to go play in the backyard.

 The kids had their last field trip this week - to the fire station! They had this cool trailer house that is to teach kids about fire! Here they are watching a movie and learning about fire safety:

 The "house" fills up with real smoke and the kids have to crawl under it, feel the door, and learn to climb out the window to get out safely!

 Good morning! 

 Ema and I ventured to the Outlet Mall this week, so naturally a stop at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory was in order!

 These are my two work companions! :) It's a good thing my kids are so good! And how cute are they playing together!?

 Someone, who shall remain nameless, has developed a naughty streak. He loves nothing more than to throw all of his food on the floor, as well as cups full of wonderful liquids like prune juice and whole milk. Yesterday he completely shattered two FULL cups of prune juice, which is not fun to clean up, all over the kitchen floor. Now that he's 1, it's time for time outs! Paiton was 12 months when we started with her and it has done a world of good.

 This is just a funny story I want to remember. On our way home from taking Paiton to school I sometimes will stop and get coffee. When I carry Quinn and my coffee into the house this is what he does EVERY SINGLE TIME: 

 He sticks his finger in the hole! It cracks me up! I can't even tell you a time that I've had one and he hasn't done this, it's hilarious!!

A few randoms:

~Paiton today informed me that she changed her name from Paiton Lola to Marco Pudding. She won't answer to Paiton, only Marco. She even went so far as to ask me "Since Marco is my name now, I should know how to spell it. What's Marco start with?" As I type this she is looking over my should saying "Did you write 'Marco' yet? Which one is it?"  ;)

~Paiton has been super whiny and full of attitude lately. Today she got sent to her room for it. When I went to talk to her about why she was in trouble her response was "Because I'm attitudey." Well....yes.

~Quinn FINALLY has two new teeth popped through. One is a random one on the bottom and the other is a molar on top. I can just feel one tiny corner of it. Whew. Those molars have been killing him. Maybe the other 3 will come through soon and we'll be done with it for awhile. Poor kid!

~The rest of this story will come soon, but Paiton has been learning fire safety at school and today had a trip to the fire station. Needless to say it has been a source of stress and worry for her. She's constantly asking what happens if there's a fire, how will we keep her safe, etc. She's been practicing stop, drop, and roll, etc. Today she was asking me, "Where is our meeting place outside if there's a fire?" (The firemen had talked about this today) and I told her "If you have to leave the house without me or daddy, you will meet us at the mailbox." Her reply: "Mom! I am not going to fit in the mailbox!"   ;)

 This weekend was Paiton's Spring dance recital! The day of she got nasty blisters on both feet! :( She made me put band aids on them and then she needed them propped up on a pillow, of course!

 I have real pictures and video to post of her dance recital, but here she is waiting backstage for her turn!

 We went to USwirl afterwards for yogurt and Quinn and Pai just couldn't resist lots of hugs!

 And Paiton couldn't resist dancing in the middle of the restaurant. Matt finally had to put a stop to it when she started break dancing on the floor in front of the door.

 Yesterday was mid-80's so we headed to the water park for the first time this year!! It was EMPTY!! Got a front row parking spot and a prime chair by the kiddie pool! Perfection!

 Quinn is SUCH a fish. He did not want to get out of the water at all. And he really loved this car  boat that Ema got him for his birthday!!

Last night when we got home from the water park Matt was getting ready to make me dinner!!!! He had gone grocery shopping, gotten his supplies, and planned out a SUPER DELICIOUS meal!! He made it all himself - he's a great cook. He made BBQ'd corn (our summer staple), homemade french fried potatoes, and the most juicy, delicious hamburger with gooey melty Havarti cheese, fresh crispy lettuce, mustard, and a Challah bun. O.M.G....so good. I told him he is more than welcome to make that for me any time!! Oh, and a fresh cold glass of my very favorite beer!!! 

Thanks husband, YOU ROCK!!!!!
