Dance Recital!

On Saturday we had a busy day! Paiton had a dress rehearsal and a dance recital for 1,000+ people mixed in with 9 photoshoots for me!!
I was the only one who was able to go to her recital. She did GREAT!!! The stage was huge, the crowd was huge, and the lights were bright, but they did fantastic!
I THOUGHT I was taking a video, but instead I was taking this horrible still shots. Something's wrong with the video on my camera. I need to look into that. Anyway, here you go!
To her left is Reese - her good friend from school!!

She did SO good and kept her smile on for most of their dance!!! She's so cute my eyes water just lookig at these!!

 The end!!

They did SO good!! The crowd went wild! :) They performed at a dance teacher conference here in Boise. She was such a sport considering she'd been up early, and been dragged all around town for rehearsal, photo shoots, etc. She's my very best friend and such a good helper. I have no idea what I'd do without her!!!! I love you P!!!

**I'm on an updating binge, so there are new posts under this!**

Cookie Date!

Yesterday I let Paiton skip rest time and bake cookies with me!

 She's such a good helper!
Naturally we have to taste the dough. You know, to make sure it's ok for everyone else...

This was my picture of the day yesterday on my business page. Paiton gives us kisses, "noses" (eskimo kisses), elbows, and "foreheads" - this is a forehead. It's equivalent to a kiss. It's the best. :)

We may add more chocolate chips than the recipe calls for...
I just love her hair. People pay good money to have hair with natural highlights/ombre and this curl!!
While the cookies baked we made daddy a note

 Mmmm! Delicious!!

**There is a Shriner's update under this post!!**

Shriner's Update

We took Quinn to Shriner's on Friday!
We've been waiting months for the appointment. I spent a lot of time making phone calls, requesting documents, getting out of jury duty, etc., to make it possible for us to go and have what we needed.
Then the day was finally here!
Paiton spent Thursday night with my parents (THANK YOU!!) because we were up by 4 am getting ready for our flight! Matt's dad came and took us to the airport (thank you!!)
I was nervous. I HATE to fly. Especially with a baby. Turns out Matt and I weren't even able to sit together because the flight was full. He was a few rows back from Quinn and I. I HOPED Q would sleep on the flight since he'd been up since 4:30, but no such luck. Instead he wiggled around, kicked the seat in front of us (although, in his defense, the guy totally deserved it. I had Quinn on my lap, and that alone made Quinn's feet touch the guy's seat in front of us. As soon as the plane started taxi-ing, that guy shoved his seat back into laying position, which crammed Quinn's feet and legs up! Apparently he just couldn't stand to be sitting upright for our 45 minute flight!)
Anyway, the flight felt a lot longer because we hate to sit and get de-iced, and then I had a squirmy, whiny, tired toddler on my lap! :/ I was so happy to get off that plane!! Then we waited for the Shriner's bus to come get us and take us to the hospital.
Our appointment wasn't until 10:30, but they took us back around 9:00. We answered a bunch of questions, and then an awesome pediatric orthopedic surgeon came and evaluated Quinn. He was SO nice! He had read Quinn's chart before we got there, and had apparently had a suspicion that Quinn had undiagnosed Cerebal Palsy. After examining him he felt confident that he doesn't. Whew!! A lot of times there is an underlying diagnosis causing the Hypotonia (low muscle tone). But, sometimes, there isn't. We're hoping (and thinking!) that's the case with Quinn.
Basically, now he can get the leg braces he needs here in Idaho, and Shriner's will now pay for them. They'll also follow him for a long time, and will see him a couple times a year for a few years. We go back in September.

We were done by 10:10 and our flight was delayed until 3:45, so we had some time to kill and no transportation. :) Luckily they have this awesome, huge playroom upstairs! It had a basketball court, bowling, pool, ping pong, tons of Little Tikes cars and other awesome toys, tetherball, and a big screen TV!

 This is Quinn saying "Cheese!"

Although he looks pained, this is his "smile" and some more yelling of "Cheese!"

They also had these huge Sully and Mike figures from Monsters Inc!

 The view outside:
These were so cool!! We wished we could bring one home to Cadon and Ryan!! I think in this picture Matt's telling me "It's not a crane! Stop calling it a crane! It's an excavator!"

Eventually we headed to the airport. We attempted to waste time eating Auntie Anne's pretzels, but when I went to order one the lady working told me "Oh...yah...we no make pretzels today..." So, we didn't.
Instead, Quinn watched the planes in awe. He's such a boy. And so stinking cute!

The flight home was much easier. Matt got to sit with us, and we had the first row behind first class, so we had leg room galore! Quinn was so exhausted he just laid on me and watched movies on the iPod. I was really glad for that!
And now, pictures from my phone! :) haha!
Quinny's first plane ride!! Waiting to take off!

Waiting for the bus to come get us!

Playing in the room waiting for the doctor

Trying to get him to lay down and take a nap.

Gave up on a nap and went to eat lunch in the cafeteria instead.
Finally after roaming the halls for awhile he fell asleep on me for a whopping 20 minutes!
 Time to go home!
 Quinny's second flight!

The clouds were SO thick, you couldn't see under them!! It was nice to see blue sky for a change though!
