Relocating...

The Locke family has some exciting news!!
Matt got a new job! It might be kind of a shock, it sure was to us! This is his 4th year teaching and he has been doing so great at it. He is "highly decorated" (as I like to call it) as a Special Ed teacher and he really cares for his students, but an opportunity presented itself. If you know Matt you know that his passion is, and always has been, tennis. He applied for a position as a Community Programs Coordinator with the Idaho Tennis Association. He had an interview and was a little bummed when he came home because he thought it went really well, but it paid a little less than teaching does. {Which we totally did NOT think was possible!} He thought the interview went well and that it was probably worth it to sit down and decide whether he would take it if offered. I can't even tell you how long we went back and forth listing pros and cons and really deciding what would be best for our family. In the end we decided that, if offered, he would take the job.
There were a few reasons behind this {ridiculously hard and nerve racking} decision, but mainly it came down to 2 things - Matt's dream of having a job in the tennis field, and me. The only thing that is keeping us out in Nampa is Matt's teaching job. We bought a house out here in 2006 and have been out here ever since. But everything else is in Meridian/Boise - my job, Paiton's pre-school, and our families. It takes me 45 minutes to get Paiton to pre-school in the morning, then another 45 minutes to get home. It's a ridiculous amount of time and gas. Add to that all the trips I have to make for work and it's really a pain. But with Matt having to be at school at 6:30 am every day it was just easier to live out here.
While we will be sad to leave certain things - my best friend Kim and her kids who are the same age as P and Q and live in our neighbrohood (we regularly take walks and play at the park with them), our friends the Lester's who are just a couple minutes away, the best Target, etc., there are many, many pros to moving out to Boise, and they eventually outweighed the cons.
We are SUPER excited about this and really not as nervous as we had been. Matt is elated that he gets to do tennis for a living and I am happy to see him happy.
So come the beginning of November we will be packing up and moving on out!! {Again!? Seriously!? Didn't I just spend weeks packing and getting ready to move last year, dang it!!}
But in the end...it's totally going to be worth it. We're stoked.
