Large Jicama's

Hi everyone!
So Michael finished in first place yesterday! Congrats to him! Matt and I figure that we are the good luck charms since he spent the night before hanging out with us and eating fondue! So yay for Michael, and whenever you get that check for our cut made out you can just drop it in the mail ;)

Paiton is doing well. She is the size of a large jicama. I am attaching a picture.
Ok that is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen and I don't want it compared to my child. So here is a picture of Paiton that is much cuter. Hopefully the ugly jicama image doesn't stay in your head too long. Sorry about that.

I haven't really slept for a couple nights now, it's amazing how well I can function on little sleep. At least I think I'm functioning well, please don't tell me if I'm not. It is hard/nearly impossible for me to get comfortable at night. Rolling over isn't just rolling over anymore, it's an entire process. Paiton is going to be a rebel, I can already tell. She just loves to kick away at night and keep me up. Her dance parties are getting a little out of control! She had the hiccups for the last couple of nights which is pretty amusing to me! Dr. Jones told me I could take Zantac for the killer heartburn that I have all day and all night, she told me what a lifesaver it was for her. I'd like to call her out on that one. It does nothing for me. Not a thing! I guess I am getting lots of calcium from eating entire bottles of Tums all day though, so that's a plus! Plus it's nice to get to experience "sleeping" sitting up in bed. I mean, if not for the searing pain in my chest I probably would have never experienced the whole ordeal of trying to get my pillow propped up against the wall, then leaning back on it which only pushes our bed out from the wall, so then Matt has to get up and push it back, over and over. Being pregnant is truly beautiful ;) I think it's more than safe to say that I am past the "cute" point of pregnancy and now just look like a sweaty chubby pregnant lady!

Tonight we are going to Flying Pie for dinner with the Lurcook's and Koch's! Yay! Our whole big "family" is here (minus Brandon and Jason :( ) But we are so excited to see Debbie and Trav! Look for pictures to come for sure!!

TWO MOTHS!!

Exciting news everyone - two months from TODAY is my due date!! Wohooo! I really cannot wait. I do like being pregnant and I like being able to have Paiton all to myself, but I am so ready to meet her and see what she looks like!!
This has been a pretty fun week. Kiki and Michael got here for the Nationwide Tour that Michael plays golf on. Yesterday (Wednesday) was my day off so Kik came over to the house and we hung out for awhile. Then we wandered around downtown for a little while and had lunch with Matt. Then we wanted them to experience our favorite restaurant of all time, Mona Lisa (where we got engaged) so the four of us went there for dinner. It was A LOT of fun and we are so glad we got to spend time with them!! Hopefully they are going to have time to come hang out this weekend and play some Wii!
Here are some pictures we took last night (keep in mind I'm 7 months pregnant people, no more looking cute for me, but Kiki looks cute!!)
So enjoy, and Good Luck this week Michael!!

Me and Kiki at lunch
Another picture of me and Kiki. I look equally fat in both.

The boys at Mona Lisa
The girls!
All four of us and our chocolate fondue...Mmmm....

Doctor's, Kiki, and Art

Hey all! Good news! I am now 31 weeks!! Yay!! 2 months from Thursday is my due date and I can't wait!!
I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and everything looked good. She told me I can take Zantac for my heartburn, which is really good and I hope it helps. There have been many times where I'll not be able to eat anything all day and have to have a milkshake for dinner because the heartburn is so bad. So I'm crossing my fingers that I might be able to eat and that I maybe won't have to "sleep" sitting up! Yay! She also checked my cervix because I was up all night the other night with real contractions (although I didn't know it at the time, I just thought my stomach was playing tricks on me) and everything looks good. So whew!
Not too much else going on up here, Kiki is here this week!! Yay!! Her husband is playing golf here this weekend which means I get to see her! Tomorrow I am off and she is going to come check out our house and hang out! Then tomorrow night her and Michael and Matt and I are going to go to dinner somewhere fun downtown, maybe Chandler's or Bardenay. We are excited! This weekend Debbie and Travis and maybe Jason are coming to visit too! I am so excited to see my other family!
We took Cadon to Art in the Park this weekend which was fun. He got to watch Uncle Matt play tennis for awhile, which he actually really liked, he was enthralled. Then we walked around. It was a bummer, there was nothing good. All really overpriced kind of crappy art. Disappointing! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'll put up some pictures of our time with Kik once we get some :)

Four Naval Oranges

Hey everyone!! I am finally going to put up a picture of Paiton's wall so you can see how cute it is! Three of the walls are a light beige kind of color and one wall is orange. It looks brighter in the picture than it actually is, but it looks SO good and is exactly what we wanted! Also I wanted to share that this week, Paiton is the weight of carrying four naval oranges! So swollow four naval oranges whole and then you can look like me!! :)

Here's Grandpa and Daddy hard at work painting
Still painting. They spent a lot of time in that room that day and Paiton says THANK YOU!!!
All finished! It looks so cute! Also notice the beautiful new blinds on the window!! Paiton is going to love this room, I just know it!!
Another funny dog story...Kotah is very particular about where he lays. Every night before bed he fluffs up his little dog bed and gets it just right. When we came home Friday he had created this:
He took his big round pillow we have downstairs for him, folded it in half, and then pushed it up in the middle teepee style!! Then he dragged a little red toy in and his blankie and had a nice little home for the day. How cute is that!? I think I can rightfully say - my dog is smarter than your dog ;)

Last night was Dad's birthday - Happy Birthday Dad! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone you turned 46!!
Cadon got a bubble machine that he LOVES. So we spent some time outside blowing bubbles. His favorite thing to do was to try to eat them. Maya does it, so why shouldn't he!? We basically let the dog teach the baby the way things work. It's worked out fine so far. By letting him drink out of the dogs water bowl outside we're helping make sure he has a strong immune system, by allowing him to chase bubbles and pop them with his mouth, he gets to learn some good mouth/eye coordination, by crawling around on the floor and letting Maya lick his face and share his snacks, we're teaching him to be a good, kind, giving person. I don't see what the problem is?? (Yes, those things all happen...regularly...)

"Bubbles Titi!!"

He also likes the blowing kind and he has the cutest little mouth when he blows the bubbles!Watching in amazement. So easily entertained :)
I think that's all for now.
An update on Brandon: He is still in the middle of the ocean somewhere. That's about all I've got! He is doing good, he's not allowed to tell us where they're at in the water because of security reasons, which I think is really cool. It's like he's a secret agent. So really all my update can tell you is that he's doing fine and he's surrounded by a bunch of other Navy dudes and some water.

Pregnant Brain?

I probably shouldn't admit this, but no one will be surprised to hear it! I just got onto Paiton's blog to see if there was anything new...which of course there isn't because I haven't posted anything!! Duh!
Well some exciting news it that today I am 30 weeks pregnant! YES!! That means only 10 weeks to go...that sounds doable! Matt and I can't wait to meet little Paiton and it seems like she may never get here! I hope it comes fast!
This weekend was a busy one for us. Saturday Matt and I got Paiton's room ready to paint! Yay! That included moving all of her stuff (this kid has a lot of stuff) into the spare bedroom and then taping the walls to paint. Then Sunday Matt and his dad spent all day painting the room and it looks AWESOME!! It turned out really good. Paiton and I say thank you Daddy Matt and Grandpa Chris!! The result was exactly what I had hoped for. I have pictures to put up so hopefully I can get them up tonight! They also installed new 2" white wood mini blinds in our upstairs and in Paiton's room! It looks so beautiful now! Also a new front porch light that is motion detected and a lock on P's window. Now we just need to clean the carpets and move her stuff back in!! Yay!! It was very exciting!
We had a bonfire at Mom and Dad's which was really fun. Cadon wasn't too sure about the fire at first and wanted me to hold him and snuggle him (oh darn) until he got used to it! Is it bad that I want to make another fire to scare him into loving on me?? He is just the sweetest baby ever!
Check back for some pictures of the boys hard at work and the end result of P's room!!

From Happy to Mad!

I wanted to put some pictures up from my ultrasound this morning. It was a lot of fun! The tech told me that Paiton now weighs 3 pounds! Yay! I also found out some really cool stuff. They showed me the hair on head! Yay - she has hair!! And also we learned that her cheeks are really chubby! I think you'll be able to tell in some of the pictures. It is just way too cute. She also appears to have pretty big Angelina Jolie like lips. Not sure where those came from!!!

So this is the only 3D picture we got. When it was time to do those P was laying head down with her face pointed towards my back. Of course!! Notice the lips and chubby cheeks!!

This is a cute profile one of her getting ready to suck her thumb, or maybe she's just giving me a thumb's up letting me know she's alright!
Another profile, she's just too precious!
When the tech was trying to get a shot of her nose and lips she kept sticking her tongue out at us. It was way too cute. So here's a picture. It's look up her nose and you can see her sticking her tongue out!! We didn't get a picture of it but I also got to watch her move her eyes around!!
Now on to the bad part of my day....I ran home real quick to get my lunch, and when I walked in the baby gate we put at the top of the stairs to keep the dogs downstairs, was knocked down and thrown to the bottom of the stairs. Uh oh. This is what I saw when I walked upstairs:

These pictures really don't do the damage justice. They had completely emptied the trash all over my floor. They ate raw meat, melted ice cream, chocolate cookies, who knows what else. Not only that but....
They managed to somehow OPEN the fridge, get out some old enchiladas, and eat them. Then they moved on to trying to eat some raw bacon. As well as pull my towels down and knock over the broom.
Here is the gate along with some more trash at the bottom of the stairs.

Needless to say this did not go over well with the pregnant ladies hormones. I yelled at the dogs and locked them in my bedroom for fear that I might just bag them up with the garbage and let the trash man deal with them, then I sat on the floor with my rubber gloves and garbage bag and cried for a few minutes while texting Matt furiously letting him know the evil that had taken over my sweet puppies. Then I took a couple pictures, then I cleaned it up. Can you even believe this!? I am so mad at those stupid dogs right now! I am also REALLY excited to go home and see how much barf I'm probably going to have to pick up. Greeeeat.....

P.S. Just a little update. I just finally got back to work. I called the vet to ask if I needed to do anything or just let my dogs suffer with tummy aches after eating all kinds of crap (including some raw eggs I found under the couch later...) and she said to feed them both hydrogen peroxide which will induce vomiting. Lucky me. So I got to sit outside in the heat, in my work clothes, and try to shove hydrogen peroxide down the dogs throats, and then wait while they threw up all over the place. Now I can tell you exactly which dog ate what! And I can also tell you that Kotah ate a TON of enchiladas, and they smell exactly the same thrown up as they do fresh. I think I'm done eating enchiladas for awhile. I am obviously still feeling sorry for myself and for the dogs! I felt so guilty making them throw up. And it's not like they just throw up once, oh no, it's about 10 solid minutes of multiple pukings. Great. And everyone feels the need to warn me about having a baby. Do you people know the dogs I have and the crap (literally) I have gone through with them!? I have been around PLENTY of babies and none has ever disgusted me like my little Shibas have...

3-D ultrasound!

Hey everyone! Brandon left bright and early this morning on the ship. Over here in Idaho though it was dark and early!! He is off! His first stop is in a couple weeks in Israel. I will keep all of you updated through the blog as he writes us! We can't wait to hear from him ASAP - hopefully in a couple days!!

Matt and I got some exciting news today! A girlfriend of mine's aunt owns an imaging place that does MRI's, Ultrasounds, CT scans, etc. They are trying to get a special kind of Ultrasound license and they need a woman from each week of pregnancy to work on! So I get to have another ultrasound tomorrow and it's FREE!! They said it will take about 1 1/2 hours and it's going to be the 3-D kind!! Matt wanted this but they are so expensive, and to me, creepy! So we'll see how it goes. I'm really excited to see Paiton again, but I hope that the 3-D doesn't freak me out. I'm kind of a baby like that!! I will definitely be putting pictures up so check back tomorrow or Thursday!

Matt and his dad are going to work on painting Paiton's room this weekend! Woohoo! Oh wait, that means it needs to get emptied out...Oh boy! I have no idea where all of that stuff is going to go. Her room is packed wall to wall with stuff and clothes and diapers and I have nowhere to put it!! This should be interesting....I will also be putting up pictures of her room when it's done, but I have a feeling that won't be for awhile yet.... Anyway, that's my little blurb today! I hope everyone is thinking about Brandon and Carissa and Cadon! They get here tomorrow and Matt and I can't wait to steal our favorite boy again for a slumber party!! That boy has his Uncle Matt wrapped around his chubby little finger, that's for sure!! Oh and on a totally different side note, we have decided what we're going to be for Halloween! (Early, I know, but our friends Ed and Tricia love Halloween and are already planning their party!) Tricia thought of such a good thing for me to be since the theme of their party this year is movie characters I will be....Juno! How funny is that!? Matt's going to be the boyfriend in the track outfit with the short shorts!! It should be pretty funny...Anyway... More later!
